oldest living player

Hockey Reference lists all players by birth date and will show their death date if applicable, so for say 1926

you can see there is one guy without a listed death date, but you click on the player and it says died in 1975, just doesn't know exact date, so you know that for instance, everyone born in 1926 that played in the NHL is dead (which is not so crazy as anyone born that year would turn 99 in 2025 if still living)

So I'd recommend looking through by year, seeing which ones for which there is no death date and then running a manual check to verify if actually alive or just didn't have a known date to put there

Alex Delvecchio is 93. Would he be the oldest living Hall of Famer?

Glenn Hall is older by a bit.

He looks to he in good shape, here he is this week with Scotty Bowman. Hall lives near Edmonton, Bowman was in town for the finals.
