Just more time for nelson strome and lee...

My guess is Strome will benefit the most, he probably will get that first unit PP time(and to be honest I think it will be an improvement to the PP), sucks though 5 on 5 having 1 less top player

As much as this injury sucks to happen as an isles fan, I'm actually a bit excited at the idea of Strome possibly being the #1 RW; I think our depth can cover a piece of Okposo's production while Stroke gets the opportunity of a lifetime on JTs wing.

Terrible injury for the Islanders, still they've played above their heads this year, let's see if that continues without Okposo.

As much as it sucks he's out I'm not too worried. They had 10 fowards capable of playing in the top 3 lines. Just plug in Grabovski and keep on rolling.

Still this? Every team stat (advanced and traditional) points to them being good and playing at expectation.

Unless this is the "they haven't been good in a while, so they can never be good" thing... which makes no sense.

Only players who are performing better than expected are nelson, strome and perhaps boychuck (but that is pretty standard for ex-bruins). How are the isles playing above their heads other than 2 sophomores improving their games?

Never thought I'd be so nonchalant about an injury to the top line, but since the Isles have about 10 guys who can play top-9 minutes, and this could open more icetime for Strome, Nelson and Lee, I'm really not too concerned.

We've got the depth to fill the gap without hurting any other lines.

This injury kind of hurts NYI's momentum. Okposo is NYI's 2nd best player, no matter what anyone says. The only thing that tempers my disappointment is the possibility that we'll see Strome and Tavares play together with Anders Lee. I think a lot of NYI fans think that it's a line that works, at least, on paper.

Hopefully that max is really 2 months. If it is, he'll be back in time for the postseason. Part of me hopes Strome sticks on that top line, and when KO returns they'll form that Minnesota line: Lee - Nelson - Okposo.

In the big picture it's a case things can be worse(just look at Pittsburgh). You have to expect injuries at some point during the season it's just part of the game, thankfully he will be back by time the playoffs start
