Using his purported age he was 29 when he won his first NHL game. For him to be older than Ayers he would have been 13 years older than purported. That means he would have been 58 when he finished playing, and 106 when he died.Rumours were Johnny was much older than his purported age……..
I'm reasonably sure that when he joined the army in 1940 they could tell the difference between a 15-year old (claiming he was 18) and a 28-year old (and if he was 28, why would he have to lie about his age?)
