Money Puck so dumb some times.

That 2 on 1 Kopitar to Kempe Cross ice dagger chance @ 15:09 left in the 1st period, maybe Stu's best save of the year stopping a sure-fire goal, given a measly 6.6% chance of going into the net. Premium passer to a premium shooter, one-timing on a gaping net.

The most dangerous chance on net all game? Credited to Kuemper, a net front dribbler pass and jam play from Brown to Henrique given a 41.4% chance of going into the net @ 19:46 left in the 2nd period. This chance right here:

The reality is that he has levelled out. He's had two bad games, against Florida and Pittsburgh, in the last almost 2 months now. Outside of those two games, he's been one of the best goalies in the league in that timeframe.
even the game against Pitt was way more to do with team play than Skinner. Sure, it would of been nice to get an extra stop or 2. The team laid an egg that first period and Stu didn't bail them out. For about the last 2 months of the season, he's been about a top 10 goalie in the league. If Stu can be the 10th best goalie in the NHL, the Oilers will be unstoppable unless they get goalied, which is always possible, but unlikely over a 7 games series with 29 and 97.

ya, that is way off, that 2 on 1 should of been like a 66% chance, Stu made a HUGE save.

Maybe eventually. But I think he’s in the perfect spot right now and we should upgrade the 2nd line RD spot for at least this playoffs. Let him absolutely cook on the third pairing with Kulak.

Honestly what might make sense is moving him into Stecher's role, where he and Kulak share time next to Nurse, and the Oil grab a physically dominant 3rd pairing RHD to round out the group. (Or LHD if you're fine keeping Kulak on the right side.

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-Kulak/Emberson
Kulak-Risto
Steceher

But any of Risto, Peeke/Carlo, Murphy or someone like Lauzon or Oleksiak make sense. Ultimately I want someone with better puck skills and instincts than Vinny or Ceci.

Boys win a massive playoff type game against their Cali rival. Slow first 10 minutes, but Stu kept them in the game early. Got our legs after that and were the better team the last 50 minutes, very structured. Stu is money after losses, very calm game by him.
Stu is the pills that Jack Campbell needs.

Someone enlighten me but why does the media keep pumping Byfield when the guy isn’t even scoring at a 0.5 ppg rate?

Is there something I’m missing? You’d think with the way they are pumping him, he’s at least a ppg terror on ice
He's got bling!

I've been calling this. Kulak is one of the best #5's in the league imo. But top4 is just a bit much for him and he starts to look out of place too often. They need a guy to pair with Nurse.
I agree. People have to remember that filling in as a #4 for a short period of time is fine for him. But, over a stretch of 82 games is difficult.

You make a statement saying slewfoots happen regularly in the league and yet don’t back up any evidence aside from a mere “it does.” Do you just live to act like you’re right over everybody else all the time?
That's been his shtick for 20 years now. At least he doesn't post fake insider info anymore so hooray for little victories.

He's the next Kopitar . . . If Kopitar had half the points he had at Byfield's age and wasn't already a defensive specialist at that point. So, yeah, I hope he is Kopitar's replacement.

So much crying over an empty net here. When the oilers came back winning games last month with an empty net, the opposition fans didn't cry this much

There are better things to focus on about the game than a stupid empty net.
