Post-Game Talk: Oilers Win Series in Gentlemen's sweep 4-2

After watching Andersen run over Picard and no call after Hyman brushed Kuemper, that cemented it for me. The league didn’t even try to hide their bias anymore.

Get ready for an insane amount of “missed” calls against the Oilers and more phantom calls against us playing Gary’s Golden Gals.

Arvidsson crosscheck. Podkolzon with no stick tackles Kempe with full arms wrapped around his body. Nurse chops a King behind the net.

Refs suck both ways. The conspiracy stuff is laughable

7. Courtesy of Reddit user r/TJTrapJesus, I learned that Connor McDavid led all scorers in a series (both teams) for the 7th time in 14 career series. OP followed with some additional context on how incredible this is by adding that Sidney Crosby has only led all scorers in six of his 32 playoff series. That’s a wild stat. Unbelievable.

Conner Brown saving the game in the dying seconds around the crease, then blocking Doughty's shot and getting the EN. For all the flak he gets, he comes in big in moments like these.

On the other side of the ledger, Kempe pulled one hell of a disappearing act. -7 in the final 4 games
I don't get why he got flak in the first place, he actually had a decent regular season now bookended by two excellent playoffs. Of the bottom 6 guys, he's the one I hope stays the most. It'll be a pay raise, but I could live with something like 2 years $4m maybe a bit more. The guy brings it in the big games and isn't that old.

I think our secret strategy was to have our Connor's swap Jersey's for a game :P

The most entertaining team in hockey. Fun to watch and completely and utterly incapable of winning a hockey game by more than a goal sans empty netters.

This city must put extra coronary physicians on call when the oilers play.

Ah there's some names I have not seen in awhile. My ignore list essentially in one screenshot haha

(also, TKB21 in there is disgustingly close to my handle)
Pfffft it’s the reverse jinx, I pick the other team to win in all poles, my track record of picking Edmonton to win and them actually winning is awful.

To say the Kings coach is getting roasted is an understatement. Like most. The challenge on the Kane goal AFTER using the timeout. I watched the LAK stream in the morning and they were questioning that decision.
turns out that was their opportunity to win the series

Yeah the reffing was disgustingly one sided. Arvidsson gets called for way less in the first and Pickard gets full blown up and nothing….all one has to do is look at the amount of power plays each team received…

And it probably would have been an LA sweep is Stu was left in goal. Pickard should have started game 1, I do worry if Pickard has one off game they will put Skinner back. Skinner can have a season of bad games and they keep using him, Pickard does not have much of a leash with Knob or whoever is making the decision. I still don’t understand the spell Skinner has on these guys
That’s because he hasn’t had a season of bad games

For me? It killed the players on the team. The players knew it was a good goal..but why waste the time out to think about it. Even the LAK announcers were like LAK coach should not have done that
Well from the coaches point of view lane kicked the puck and you can’t see him hit the puck with his stick.

And the nhl has gifted teams more egregious unfair calls against the oilers.

Some of their reasoning to stick it to the oilers has been Byzantine.

Finishing in the top 8 or better for 4 consecutive seasons is a great accomplishment.

Compare that to the decade of darkness when it seemed like they wouldn't make the playoffs until the sun went nova.

Credit to veterans like Henrique, Janmark and Nuge who saved their best efforts for the playoffs.

In past seasons we have always said that without Mc-Drai they would never have won a series, that the supporting cast wasn't good enough. Not this year.

I can see Stecher coming in for Emberson and maybe putting Leon back in the middle to help the D down low.

With the heaviness of Vegas and the success of Emberson on the PK I think he stays in.

I can see them altering the nuclear line and splitting 97/29 up to start the series.
