Oilers once again demonstrating their unparalleled ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Can't get a save, can't defend (they were running around alot in their own zone, again). At least they showed up for the first.. 10 minutes.
Getting it deep and winning a race is much too complicated of a proposition for them. Much better to try and dangle/pass through 4 players and turn it over no deeper than their blue line.
Laine sits the other night. We have three or four Laine’s depending on the night…

That second Panthers goal pretty much represented the Oilers season to this point:
- Bouchard turns it over behind his net because he not urgent enough on the puck retrieval
- Two bad bounces prevent the Oilers from making what should be an easy zone clear
- Forwards not in position to cover an opposing defenseman pinching
- Puck goes right through the Oilers goalie
Beyond that you have the usual Oilers tropes:
- The refs handing Kane a penalty they rarely give another player
- The PK can't kill a penalty when the team needs one
- (and new this season) The Oilers supposedly vaunted PP cannot respond
