Oilers have the 6th most PIMs of the remaining teams. Jets are 1st with 202. Panthers 126. Oilers have 85. Why are we complaining?

I do believe if a team has a 1-in-1000 run to get fewer PP's ten times in a row against what looks like slightly weaker teams, we have a right to be at least a little bit pissed off.

Canadian teams do have some structural disadvantages relative to their American counterparts, though they aren't really things the league has much control over.

Even in spite of those, the cup drought is still mostly due to statistical randomness yes. Canadian teams make up 22% of the league and since 1993 a Canadian team has made it to the finals 7 times, good for ....22% of possible opportunities.

That they lost every time is just the way the coins flipped in a small sample. Most of them were within one game even.

I mean I don't really know how that relates to the topic in hand. Attacking others usually means you've already accepted what is being discussed as true.

I don't remember what I felt last year to be honest. The Canucks played better than expected as previous years were not good. I cheer for many teams so it wasn't too big of a deal. I think 2011 was rough though since we were expected to win but didn't. Last year was more of a surprise.
