Oilers- Ten straight games without a powerplay differential advantage. Closing in on record?

To be fair, it's not just oiler fans. All fans do it but the larger fans bases with the louder voices will be the ones remembered for it.
I agree with that. There was a couple of times a few years back it seemed that McDavid was so fast and getting mugged it seemed like he wasn't getting calls, but I don't think it can be applied to a team. And even the McDavid stuff has gone away for the most part.

It’s pretty wild that you’re equating a cross check to the face with a trip that the Vegas player definitely sold. Sucks for him the ref didn’t buy it for once.
The fact you actually think McNabb sold the call is pretty telling that you're blinded by your Homerism. Fact is that was a missed call and Edmonton basically came down and scored the other way after failing a 5 minute PP.

That 97 bastard is just so fast, maybe the refs just couldn’t even see what was happening as the blur went by.
My memories of seeing him live was how easy it all looked for him.
Like, after the play is over it all fully sinks in that he just pulled off some pretty crazy shit and made it look so easy.

Referring is subjective and if someone thinks the refs or the league encourages reffing towards one team or another they need to put away their tinfoil hat.
Again, as demonstrated in this very thread, the odds of this outcome are incredibly long.

I don't think there is a conspiracy. That doesn't mean I don't want to know what the hell is going on.

I do believe there is a bias. The calls in the first period yesterday bear it out.

This is exactly the sort of whataboutism that gets so tiresome.

The Oilers are on an incredibly improbable run of PP distribution, yet your contribution to the thread is "well what about that one trip that didn't get called" as if it negated the whole argument just because the Oilers scored on the next play.

Since the start of the playoffs, the Oilers haven't had a game yet where they have been awarded more powerplay opportunities than their opponents.

This seems like something that would be pretty uncommon over a ten game stretch.

Anyone know what the record is for consecutive playoff games without having an advantage in playoff opportunities?
You have kane, Nurse and perry on the team, am not surprised

Bias. What's the bias? Refs don't like Oilers? Canadian Teams? Orange and Blue?

I have reffed for 20 years. I have looked across the ice and seen a partner and said...awesome this guy is good. Others "Oh crap, long night." Call quality can be based on the quality of the refs.

The other part is each referee has a threshold and standard for their calls. I am sure with a percentage of the refs, they catch Hill's foot stick out. Others would have called Kane for a rough for falling on Hill.

There is no bias other than the perceptions of fans that think the stripes is out to screw them.

LOL they are, they get away with their BS more because of the talent....like I said, it is what it is....

Of course, look at the thread.....Oiler Fans...whining about officiating....again..... I should be shocked, but I'm not.
You also said when you outplay the other team you get more powerplays

Your back should be sore from moving the goalposts.

I don't know the bias, that's what I'm saying. Is it a lingering effect of refs being afraid of putting McDrai on the PP too often? Who knows.

But there does seem to be one or we wouldn't have a 1-in-1032 outcome.

I won't deny that it's been a bit frustrating that the team has largely carried the play 5v5 while also spending significant time trailing in most games and they still cannot seem to get any calls.

But it's also undeniable that the team employs some players who never get the benefit of the doubt from the officials and have earned that reputation.

Ok, let's be serious here. How can Oilers fans complain about reffing when Corey Perry does not have any PIMs in the post season?

Oilers have the 6th most PIMs of the remaining teams. Jets are 1st with 202. Panthers 126. Oilers have 85. Why are we complaining?
