Oilers- Ten straight games without a powerplay differential advantage. Closing in on record?

You have to lobby, whine, yell, stay on refs as a coach. It shouldn't be that way, but that's just the reality of how the NHL operates, it's part of the coach's job. Refs who know they're going to get an earful from a coach tend to give that team more calls I think.

Knoblauch just doesn't do much of that, I've never seen in him overly angry on the bench ever.

NHL is a business.

Winning Canadian teams do nothing for NHL profit, winning American markets, specifically down south where the room for fan engagement/expansion increase is massive does.

Florida has tried to kill a Toronto player every single game of the series and none of it gets called or looked at:
Bennet on Stolarz
Tkachuk on Marner
Rodrigues on Tavares
Kulikov on Marner

There is something to this. I hate how they seem to get too many in the reg season then none in the playoffs. Be consistent. McDavid is good enough to draw them, just dont call the ticky tack ones al lseason pumping their pp stats, then none in the playoffs.

But m sure this needs further dissection of the games to see if its the refs or simply real calls accurately.
lol did you even watch this year?

I’ve seen a stat that the Panthers are the most penalized team in the league, we fans don’t whine about PP differentials, we just watch our team compete and win, anyway.
Your Oilers team is on a roll and f***ing kicking ass, looking like a real threat to raise the Cup this year, and you’re still focused on whining about the referees. :dunno:

That's because Panthers fans are comfortable acknowledging they have a team full of assholes. I say that adoringly.

Oilers fans don't appear to be ready for that.

This is what makes the Oilers (and other Canadian teams) so unlikable. The constant whining and blaming the refs and "dirty" opposing team. By both the teams and their fans.

Its what I like about Florida. They're gunna come in and play their game. Penalties be damned. They dictate the terms. Reminds me a lot of what I liked about the Kings cup winning era teams

First season in a long time they didnt have an insane PP so "McDavid had a down year" when in reality his ES production clipped at a higher rate than his 2022 150+ season. Shows how much they depended on the PP that year.

Thats a take

As long as the Oilers win, I don't really care. It certainly hasn't hurt their offense in these playoffs. Just need to be solid on the PK.
