Post-Game Talk: Oilers pull out a win in Chicago

Man at your advanced age I can never figure out how you get yourself in that much trouble. How do you do it ? I can hardly even get one warning at this stage of the game.

Me neither. Who is it ?
He was a bad boy at the Woodstock Festival and it just carried on from there.

Pickard is a nice dude but it may be for the best if the Oilers management gets over their love affair with this tandem.

At least go get Quick at the deadline or something.

Have you looked at Quick's numbers?

Jan .879 Save %
Dec .847
Nov .928 (vs Edmonton. Montreal, Detroit, Seattle and Buffalo)
Oct. he played only 2 games.

If you look at who Quick plays against? HE is doing the traditional back role. Most if his game have been against none playoff teams. he is 6-5 with %.900 save % and at 38 he is showing age

I think behind this Oil D he'd be just fine as a backup or 1B option. Great mentor to Stu as well.

How old is Rodrigue now? About 23? Edit--he'll be 25 in July.

At some point, you see what you have at the NHL level. This is not to suggest that you trade either of the current guys but this goaltending issue is not going to go away?

Anyway, nice comeback by the boys tonight. Not pretty but I'll take it.

Oilers are very loyal to players but maybe its time to sit Ryan unless absolutely necessary due to injuries. Sometimes loyalty can be overdone. Its not as if he hasn't made a fortune in his career.
They’d rather lose him than upset nice guy Pickard. Oilers let Florida poach his dad too instead of having him with the big club

once again a poor start but they didn't let it get to 4-1
Hawks had nothing after the first period and the Oilers dominated going forward
Draisaitl never beastly night

Absolute trash reffing. It was like there were no refs for first 58 minutes and then one dropped in to make a mess.

to put in perspective skinner is 26 and he's actually playing in NHL and helped his team get to game 7 of stanley cup final. I am not the big skinner fan but he been close to average to above average.
His career numbers are hilariously close to Mikko Koskinen's...

BMehW

Oil win with a B effort against a lottery team. Stats after 20 showed a Hawks 2 - 0 scoreboard with the home team with 5 scoring chances to the Oilers 3. Pretty meh but the visitors push back from a 3-1 deficit to score 3 straight to win.

Line 2 looking good. Hyman with a blue paint PP goal. Take the W on a meh effort and move on.
The clinical report.:thumbu::laugh:

Mikko didn't have a moustache and didn't have the foresight to be born near to Edmonton

*that was a joke Skinner fans and his cousins and mom who posts here. I know Stu didn't play tonight and I am very aware he has been good since *insert date in November* and I know he played in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals and I know he shutdown Dallas in game 6 last year and I know he isn't fat and I know he only gives up goals on complete defensive breakdowns.

I would rather Pickard keep having poor starts so it's that the Oilers can't ignore it at the deadline.

I would rather management just accurately assessed the situation without needing a problem to manifest in its cruelest form before taking action.
