You said this same thing last year. You were all doom and gloom. Skinner, Arviddson, Nuge, McDavid, Bouchard, Hyman, Henrique etc didn’t just suddenly become bad hockey players over the summer. This team will turn it around. I have no doubt in my mind.

Slight downgrade on the defence we had most of the year last season for sure. I think Emberson will figure it out though.
I actually thought we were going to miss easily last year, but I mean...MOST Oilers fans thought that. Thats not really doom and gloom, thats just the reality with a start that bad.
Coming into this season I was very hopeful but after watching this lineup in game...yeah.

No all those guys didn't suddenly become bad hockey players
Skinners game fell off heavily last year and it seems to still be on the decline. If it didn't fall off he wouldn't have been bought out. Skinner being what Foegele was for us points wise would be pretty likely. Skinner doesn't get a ton of PP time here.

Arviddson didn't suddenly become a bad hockey player, but he has had some serious injuries that don't completely go away, and as a player who is 31..that tends to be when guys abilities start to decline. He isn't a bad player no. Him being a 30-40 point player I think is likely (which is a much better pace than he is right now).

Henrique isn't suddenly a bad hockey player but he is 34 and is slowing down. Couple that with him reduced playtime and usage from what he was in Anaheim and being a 3rd line guy here, 20-30 points (which is way better than he is playing like right now) wouldn't be a huge surprise.

Hyman, you can visibly see he is the same player as last year...just was snake bit.

Nuge doesn't look like the same player. Maybe he did suddenly become a bad hockey player...isn't the first time its happened to a guy before...hell wouldn't be the first time its happened to Nuge. His play has always been all over the place....especially offensively. He has never really been a consistent player.

Bouchard started last year bad too. He is what he is.

Good thing that their record doesn't require them to.
Last year at game 41 we were to match that we would need to go 19-8-0 in the next 27 games.
And our schedule till then is Canucks, Islanders, Predators, Leafs, Canadiens, Senators, Wild, Rangers, Utah, Avalanche, Knights, Blue Jackets, Blues, Lightning, Wild, Knights, Panthers, Bruins, Sharks, Senators, Kings, Ducks, Utah, Ducks, Kraken, Bruins.
Not the easiest of schedules but a few games against the Ducks and Sharks should help a bit.
It'll be interesting if with a better start if we can match last years half way mark.

Helly has nothing to do with Skinner. There you go deflecting again.

Having a 901 sv% after shaving your worst game off for whatever backwards reason isn’t even good. It’s still bad.
So run him out of town. You think his replacement is going to be better? You keep acting as if he's the only reason we are where we are.

Adin Hill has a worse sv% than Skinner yet his team seems to be doing just fine.

Well Pickard is better and he played in the AHL the last half of a decade. So yah I do.

I already mentioned not scoring is also a big issue but sure. That doesn’t mean dog shit goaltending isn’t. Just because you have a chest wound doesn’t mean the head wound isn’t a big deal.

Haha Hill is struggling right now for sure. Still a way better GSAE like I pointed out earlier. It’s funny right now Hill is doing exactly what Skinner has done his whole career. Play like junk but get bailed out every night by a superior scoring team.

Pickard is absolutely not better, but sure. Run with him and call up goalie. Schwartz will work his magic.
