Anytime I think of JD in the booth I just think of the Kariya hit and the "oh.... my goodness". Felt like he said oh my a ton which was pretty warranted for that play. Actually makes me want to go watch that whole thing again. "Off the floor, on the board" is always good for some goosebumps

I agree wholeheartedly. It exposed an organization with little to no self esteem (or competence).

I guess I have to give JD and ownership some credit. They were probably a big part of the process which led to the hiring of a competent GM.

I agree with there’s some credit due in the management change. The whole final years under prior management was a fiasco and Jarmo gets the biggest blame (though JD does as well). In the final years they couldn’t decide if they were in a rebuild, retool or push for the playoffs.

But the biggest mistake was in all the coaching decisions starting with convincing Torts to stay that final year and whiffing on three consecutive coaching hires. As Torts was fired pre-Jarmo, his track record is 100% failure on coaching hires. That’s pathetic.
