I just don't see how meddling with the GM's business over a back up goalie is something he would do. But speaking up about Babcock isn't. The supposed reasoning for keeping the back up goalie was he was well liked in the locker room. Alright, what about your teammates getting treated like shit by the head coach? The locker room doesn't matter now all of the sudden?

I personally don't think Bowman is as useless as a lot of others do, but if the best you can do is hire Babcock who's proven that there will be a problem down the road it's time to move on and try something new if you want to win a cup.

Almost all of this is Katz and self inflicted. He wanted Bowman, Holland and Chia. He wants Babcock.

We keep finding guys no Oiler fan wanted. No one was screaming for Jarry (but I did defend it a bit when we traded for him). No one was screaming for Bowman. No one was screaming for Frederic.

Most of us wanted Nurse gone but to shore up roster in other areas since LD side is not a weakness. If turning Skinner into Jarry and losing Kulak is the formula. Then whatever Bowman does for Nurse will be tragic. Then he brings in Babcock with a much worse roster and Jarry as the starter.

I even read McD wants to sign for 7 years. You'd think reading Cossa for a 2nd, Nurse trade and McD signing for 7 years all sounds like amazing news. Yet somehow I think decade of darkness 2.0 is incoming.

Rewatched some videos on players talking about how Babcock mentally tortured Franzén, kept Modano from getting to 1500 games, put young Marner in a tough spot by pushing him to list his teammates' effort, checking through the phones of the Columbus-players, and how Commodore just in general hated and feared him, to get in the right mood for his possible return.
