yup, McDavid had amazing Games in Game 3, 4 and 5 (where he got all his points)...especially Game 5 where he willed the team back for Game 6....may go down as one of the best individual games in Cup finals history
and then the "depth" won Game 6
but those stats are skewed cause it only happened in 3 Games...if those 11 points are spread over 7 Games, the Oilers win the Cup

oh and MacKinnon did get a primary assist on the Avs Cup winning goal

Yeah must be nice to be (checks notes) 4th on your team in scoring when you win in the Finals. Pretty sure McDavid could win easily with that group too.

Also Darcy Kuemper outplayed Vasilevsky is their Cup clinching game even with an eye injury. That must be nice to have too.

yeah and it must be nice to score a goal in the Finals, something Crosby, MacKinnon and McDavid did, but Drai didn't do, probably costing his team the Cup
I mean, we could go all day on "what ifs"

Draisaitl was injured. McDavid scored more goals in 1 Finals than Crosby has in his last 3 Finals combined (3 goals to 2 goals). But Crosby gets 3 Cups. Funny how that works.

McDavid deserves at least one Cup if Sid has 3 to show for his efforts in the Finals, shame Connor got sent to this shit hole of a GM purgatory.

He signed a contract, Connor will honor that. That said if this team doesn't get their shit together and fast I think he is going to at minimum pass on an immediate extension and look at what would be available for him on the open market in 2026. This team needs to get a lot more serious about this.

Yet here we are...people are arguing that very thing by suggesting that Skinner lost the series instead of admitting that scoring 0.67 goals in 3 games was the major reason..
Where was the offense? Where was the secondary scoring?

I think we can forgive a guy who, 1. was playing hurt yet still broke 30-f***ing points in the postseason, and 2. just a year earlier was on pace to break the all-time playoff goals record in a single postseason and doing so while playing visibly hurt. You know why he didn't break that record?

Because Skinner totally imploded and cost the Oilers that series against Vegas.

Again, you're shitting on two of the greatest playoff performers in history to defend a guy who will be mocked for years as the single biggest barrier to this team winning Cups in 2023 and 2024.
