Honestly the refs just decided to not call a single penalty all game, for absolutely zero reason? What the heck was that?

Skinner named second star. What?

Hopefully more of these games can convince our management to get serious about a goalie.

The crew is talking about Skinner playing better lately, while he has a .890 save percentage. Since when is that considered good?

The key word is lately. Skinner has a .917 in his last five starts.

A very playoff style game that felt like two heavy weights going at it. Just couldn't connect for a goal. Was really tight out there, but we whiffed on a few prime chances too. Skinner was ok, though that 1st goal should not have gone in. Tough to win when you don't score a goal though.

Anyway, can't be too upset...not like we got spanked. We outplayed them overall. You knew Vegas was gonna tighten things up after being embarrassed by Utah. On to the next.

Expected goals are a bs stat and tell us nothing on their own. The deserve to win meter is a hacks tool.

The oilers lost this game because they had no finish and didn’t get in the hard areas. Not to mention Vegas knows how to stop us, sit between the circles and get sticks on passes, that neuters us 100% because all we do is look for a cross ice pass.
When a goalie is hot like that the only thing you can do is try to screen him and get rebounds. We didn’t really try and do either.

We played well. Can’t fault the effort.
Yes and no. A glaring lack of net-drive for 40 minutes. Teams with way less talent than Edmonton generate just as much offence as we do just by bulling their way through the slot and funneling shots to the net. We refuse. Perimeter ad naseum, drop pass after drop pass. Meanwhile Vegas just forms the old Strudwick “5 on the dice” and we get nothing done.

IIRC Michaels said, pretty close to the end of the game, that they weren't getting any shots from the point. Look at the shots when Bouchard actually does shoot; it's rebounded and the best chances almost all game were from those rebounds. They need to SHOOT more on net. Tired of this fancy passing and dangles, just shoot for f***s sake.

People freaking out about Skinner...
Ive criticized him plenty but this was probably a top 3 game for him this season even though he didnt have to do much especially in the third.
He could have played the goal better but its not exactly something you practice for, the puck bouncing back off of the defender, back to the passer, on a 2 on 1.
They pushed hard tonight but couldnt find one..3-1 in their last 4, outplaying Vegas tonight.
Theyre fine. Cant wait to get Skinner and Arvidsson back, hopefully both of them playing better than they had until their injuries.

They didn't decide to actually push the pace until the third period. Vegas was already in lockdown mode. Cycle, cycle, cycle, backpass, backpass, backpass, button hook...

More of this useless crap that this team doesn't learn from.

Good thing they decided to throw away the previous game to Vegas and not even get a point out of it.

So much charity offered up by this team to Vegas.

Idk why our media treats our players with such deference and respect.

If I was in there I’d ask

“You guys have now been shutout the same amount as last season and it’s only December. What’s the problem? Are you guys disinterested in playing? Is this unimportant to you? Do you have problems? Are you alcoholics?

In the real world people get fired when they don’t do their jobs, what makes you so special that this doesn’t apply?”
