Hoped we'd give him a look but surprised Bowman's hands were too numb from sitting on them so far this season to put in a claim. At least this means he is willing to shake things up and scratch a guy like Perry for a younger, faster set of wheels.

Can't be worse than Podkolzin can he? Not a player that really jumps out at me when I've seen him but at least he's got some stats and is an NHL Player. Podz is an absolute bust and shouldn't even be here. Not sure if this is to replace Arvid or team already having second thoughts on Pods who looks like he might never score.

Podz is a 4th liner who at least hits and forechecks. Kapanen does neither. He's like if Tobias Rieder couldn't play defense.

I especially loved his pass into the corner when he skated into the slot just above the hashmarks with possession yesterday. Very high IQ hockey player there.

Podz has never been useful as a 4th liner either and thus why he was playing in AHL mostly. He couldn't even make the Nucks lineup after rookie season. Theres no place in the NHL for this player. He's not particularly good at anything he hits. So what? Even Pulju was willng to do that and would actually score once in awhile. Pods has the worst NHL shot I've seen for a longtime. His Balishnikov shouldn't be anywhere near the front lines. lol. I think its been over a year since he scored one NHL goal.

Oh well, there goes my attempt at positivity today. heh

lol. Was wondering about a few of the plays. Just botching plays all over. Without Perry Drai was getting nothing. Pods does make the occasional good pass but nothing near warranting being in the lineup.

He doesn't bring all that much but perhaps it is a sign that Oiler management realizes that they must make some moves. They know its unlikely that there will be a "miracle run" like last season so this is probably the start of 3 or 4 minor changes.
