Post-Game Talk: Oilers beat the odds

Pickard has now played well enough in two consecutive, critical "four point" games against tough opponents. Hope he keeps this going so I have a bit more confidence in him for the playoffs.

Imagine if we had hot goaltending in the playoffs. Hopefully Pickard is the guy. He’s really our only hope at this point

The problem with Skinner is he plays well enough every so often to trick the coach into trusting him. They should've started Pickard in Game 3 of the SCF after Skinner's first two middling performances, but the Dallas series was still fresh in everyone's minds...and made everyone forget the Vancouver series before it. I have zero confidence in another playoffs if Skinner is at the helm.

Nurse had a hell of a game and the Walman - Bouchard pair was great.

Arvidsson's game has really picked up in the last 4-5 weeks. Great to see him get more consistent close to the playoffs.

Whenever I compliment goalies, it goes the other way so no comment.

Stauffer also said he expects us to announce some signings out of Europe in the next 48-72 hours

For all the hate Connor Brown gets, hes 6th on the oilers forwards in points.
Pretty mixed bag that stat. lol

We get a lot of our pts from D, and a lot of the better producers on the club are D.

For clarity Brown isn't even topten in team in pts and he has only 8 goals and 25pts. Thats .333pts/game. That ain't swell.

In Pts/Game or G/G Brown is way down the lineup. In the latter better than only Janmark who couldn't score in Vegas.

This is the Walman we saw in the Dallas game. Hope he sticks around. And it's OK, you can praise Skinner here, there's only one Stu Stan left in this thread and he's pretty much tonight's jester.

Pickard had bad games and goals allowed in that stretch too, the whole team was bad. But to you its all on Skinner.

You obviously haven’t read many of my posts this season. That or you have me confused with somebody else.

I was probably the first one here sounding the alarm on McDavids poor play since January and if you actually did read my posts you’d know that my personal Oilers whipping boy this season it’s Bouchard - because he raised his game to such a high level last year that my expectations for him are much greater.

Should Skinner turn his game around - and I hope that he does - I will be appropriately enthusiastic.

Brown could be of some value against a big and heavy team.
Kapanen brings the same pk, is playing very well defensively and took away the tying goal 5mins into third. Kap offers better speed and still think he might something. He's playing with some zip and even telecast saying he had a strong game. Got a nice assist on Arvid goal. Made some other plays. But some really good defensive plays.

This was another weak game from J Skinner. Really think he has some trouble against the bigger clubs.

I'd love to see how many points Knob left on the table by healthy scratching Jeff Skinner so much, barely giving him over 10 minutes a game for a stretch, and now putting him with Janmark...who may never score another goal.

Didn't realize that Bouch has 60 points on the year.

Still a good year offensively. Now tighten it up south of the blue line come playoffs.
People are on him so much and yet he still is really bringing it offensively. He's also has several passes of the year highlights. For a guy constantly critiqued here he sure spots some home runs.
