He's played good in the stretch. For the most part he's making stops he should make. Vegas also had the 3 goal posts and I thought are defending and our shot blocking, impeccable. WE got clean looks on Vegas goal and finished, and Hill had more difficulty. Vegas finishing was abysmal really. Pad stuffing and logo stuffing all day. It does play in the hand of Skinner. At least he mopped all those up. Yeah I don't like him much. Trouble is you could see he's been overconfident on his puck play lately. Couple games ago he had a flub that Booch got blamed for the GA, but this one was again truly awful, and a clown GA. Its the trouble that this was against Vegas. The only in the divisision that seems to even be a challenge for us and that we probably face in playoffs. Skinner makes me nervous all the time.
We hit some posts too. :) I wont try and change your mind, and the shot blocking tonight was excellent, but he also made some tough saves that definitely weren't Pad or Logo stuffing.

I think we can agree though that it was fun to smack down Vegas, and I'm looking forward to the SC final rematch on Monday!

Nurse having such stud games now and I really liked Nuge again on PP today. He's been getting so much flak on PP but his goal was all Nuge. Perfect timing jump into the slot and he snookers it in perfectly with his underrated accuracy. Makes it look like an easy goal but keeping in mind its the first goal the Oilers had against Hill in 5 periods of play and it was huge, and he buried it. This is exactly the type of goals I envisioned Nuge getting when we drafted him. He's so good at reading where the open ice is gonna be, what the play is gonna be and jumping right in there. With good players it seems like the puck follows them. He reads so many right spots to be. Huge goal. Nuge established what this game would look like.

Another boss game from Drai. McD has been quiet lately.

Emberson, some quiet wow plays today. Guy is so solid. On one own zone pass from a D it missed him by 10ft. he calmly jumps, brings the puck down with his blade like nothing, and calmly plays the out. This guy does so much that is calm reliably play and even under duress. How good is this guy gonna get? Credit to management for finding this one.

Yeah, we hit one post on a great shot by Booch. yeah these are good times. Team is playing so well. Lots of players dialed in and playing much more disciplined positional play than Vegas was.

Emberson is Kulak with less experience. He’ll get even better as he plays more.

We need a big nasty 4C
I don’t know if that guy really exists. I think we move Janmark to 4th line center and pick up a wing like Olivier. Olivier kills penalties, scores a bit, and if we were to get him half retained he would only be 500k against the cap.

Matches the eye test. Said early on the Oilers were playing good, they played alot of great games, but the production and execution just wasn't catching up yet. Gonna be fun year again. In Knob Hockey I Trust. Best coach we've had since Sather AINEC.
Knob and Coffey. Not to limit how instrumental Coffey has been in implementing where D do much more with puck to get zone outs and transition. More expectation on more D to make breakout plays. That and the good jumps into offense means it often looks like we have more players on ice. The D are being so effective and such a huge part of this club. All of them. This is the best D performance found anywhere in the league and Coffey has them have their own Lunch spot in the room and the only forward thats been allowed to sit with them is Draisaitl. hmmm.

Coffey is elevating D on the ice and in the room. D are cool. D are bosses. Its the message. Works perfectly with KK's solid Clare Drake type game plan and the forwards buying into responsible play and the best back pressure you find in the league right now.

We're playing Golden Bears hockey but with generational skill on ice.
