Honest question:

Do we really believe this team, with all the (injury-) problems will come out of the west with teams like Vegas, Dallas and Edmonton in it?

Or does anyone really believe, we are going to beat one of those 3, or worese, 2 of them in a series?

I simply lack the imagination....Even if we somehow manage to get healthy and Nuke not sniffing something....

I mean, we went for a 2nd line center, gave up Byram, gave Mitts a new contract and he turns out to be another "Johanson.... "

Something feels "off" with this team.....

There's something that's been OFF since the pre-season... I said they looked stale and they are.

I'd expect this team to make a big move that doesn't include just 'adding' players to this team. Some players will be moved out as well.

Missed opportunity all around. Blown 3-0 lead is inexcusable. Hanging Blackwood out to dry allowing that shot differential is a recipe for the disaster we saw. Also Dallas lost and we wasted that opportunity. I know it's a bit early to start watching the standings but it's going to come fast if we keep playing like this.

Just looking at the lineup that's not a team that can compete. Back to being a one line team with a defense that is much worse than 22-23.

Avs looking more and more like they’re on the Pitt Penguins path organizationally. Top heavy studs, mediocre depth and overall team play. Meh.

Mittlstadt's drop off is throwing everything off. Now even with a healthy Nichushkin, we no longer have 6 top 6 forwards. Only one top 6 center. That position is just cursed.

It's pretty simple, the Avs have no 2nd line right now (and pretty much no 4th line all season).

The Kiviranta-Rantanen-O'Connor experiment was brutal. Yeah they scored a goal, but were on the ice for 2 against (3 for Kivi) and were manhandled, trapped in their own zone constantly:

Kivi had an uncharacteristically bad night defensively. He's definitely in way over his head on the 2nd line but usually he's sound defensively. I still like him as 4th liner for sure though.

Their only hope right now is they manage to get healthy and reset over the 4 nations tournaments break. I hate that the big 3 are all playing in that useless tournament.

Maybe the team can come back refreshed and with a better mindset because what's happening right now is embarrassing. I wouldn't even be surprised if they miss the playoffs honestly. Other teams arent far behind.

Team needs a major wakeup call. Big trade or fire the coach. Even when they win games they look like crap.

PP is unacceptably awful.
Effort most nights is just lackadaisical.

They look like a group that got their one Cup, and is ok with just one.

Agreed. The way it's currently constructed is no longer working.

I don't really care what they decide, but they can't continue doing the same thing and hope it by some miracle works.

They look completely complacent, and the only way that will change is to shake it up drastically. Get them out of their comfort zone alter their comfortable reality.

Imo Landy would just be a boost. They have some fundamental flaws that need to be fixed before they can ever think about winning a series.

Mitts is just broken, Power Play is stagnant and seems incapable of adapting.3rd line would be an elite 4th line, but are bound to have mediocre nights playing as a 3rd line. Need to fix the 3rd pairing, or at least find a platoon group of 3-4 guys that works once/if Sam M regains some form.

Landeskog's presence would certainly be welcome, but if Mittelstadt/2C doesn't get fixed, Landeskog won't change the inevitable.

Yep, they "peaked" against the Jets, only to get destroyed by Dallas (and lets be clear, this should have been a clean sweep for Dallas), That Game 6 still gives me bad vibes to this day... We played like Apollo Creed in Rocky 4 against Ivan Drago.... Still a miracle we made it into OT in Game 5 only to get finished by our old friend Dutchy......

I predict that at least one of our players will get hurt playing in this "tournament"...

I already posted this card but the point is he doesn’t contribute or impact the game in any way at all.

Again, yesterday… only guy who was dressed to not register a single shot on goal, a single hit, or a single blocked shot.

I'm sorry Rantanen can't make LOC and Kiviranta 2nd liners?

I get some of the frustrations with Mikko, but whenever he's tasked with driving his own line he gets absolutely shafted with line mates. Like maybe give him Lehky or Drouin? Give him at least something to work with.

I mean you have to give to get. In my view our lack of scoring depth is a bigger issue than the defense. I'm not saying I'm advocating for that trade necessarily, but if by the trade deadline Mittelstadt hasn't sorted himself out, I would consider trading Sammy G for an offensively gifted center. What other trade chips do we have that would get back a meaningful asset?
