Hahaha. I love that movie. We need a hockey version.
Maybe, but we have slapshot!

We're making a huge mistake going into next season with assumptions that players like Rattie and Aberg will keep this up. Need improvements on those players, but they should both be back ready to battle in training camp.
I actually want him extended because I really think his next 3 seasons will be his career best ones, I put him in the line of players that start looking around and say to themselves I dominated alot of these guys in Junior and they pick up their game and play with a lot more confidence . this happened with 2 other 2011 picks this year in Couturier and Huberdeau , those 2 also started in the league a season earlier than Strome as well . I can see Strome realising this as well , 3 years at 3.33 per is a safe bet imo with himNo arguments there. He's got Horcoff hands around the net. But like I said, if he's burying those opportunities, he's a $5m player. I like having him in that 3 spot.
It's kinda funny that Ty Rattie might get himself an NHL contract for next season because Pontus Aberg slept in for practice one day, lol.

I would sign rattie for another year or two, at worst he provides depth for the AHLIt's kinda funny that Ty Rattie might get himself an NHL contract for next season because Pontus Aberg slept in for practice one day, lol.
Vanek at 3M is the 2LW for Drai.
Green at 5-6M also addresses our PMD and PP specialist
They should be trying:
RNH - McDavid
Draitsaitl - Pulju
Lucic - Strome
To see if Drai and Pulju work together. Drai is going to need help though like you said.
Since Nuge joined Connor's line: (7 Games) Nuge: 4G, 5A, +10 Connor: 5G, 8A, +13
I'm hoping that Strome can hit 40 points playing mostly 3rd line minutes. At least it will make the trade seem less lopsided.
Haha I missed the meme thing, that's funny
I'm really happy with what that line has been able to accomplish and it's amazing how well and how quickly Rattie adjusted into a role to be an active contributor on the line, but be careful of small sample sizes and all that. Don't want a repeat of this year with being hopeful multiple players can hold down certain roles, we need a few more sure bets and while some young players may play their way into prominent roles it should be more of a dog fight.Connor McDavid has his wingers. No need for Hoffman.
Speaking about Hoffman, I love how he didn't bother defending Connor's 4th point.
You might need to get your eyes checked, he played well, but the skill difference between the two is rather immense. I'm hopeful he can continue to play well, but skeptical that this is just his immediate response to having a strip torn off him for missing practice, but might not have the focus and dedication to uphold this level of play.Aberg looked a lot like William Nylander to me tonight. Very dynamic, hope he keeps this up.
If he does I'm sure the excuse will be he needed to sign Nurse to a fat contract, from the sounds of it his only 3 core pieces he 100% wants to keep are McDavid, Drai, and Nurse.McDavid and Nuge are so good together...I'm fully expecting Chia to **** this up in the offseason by trading Nuge for "cap space"
I'd like to get Green, but I dunno. I think 6 mill is about the max we can offer him which I think he'll be able to get from other teams. His wife is American too so I dunno if she'd prefer to stay in the US closer to her family or what but that tends to be a challenge.
If Vanek is the best we can do ...
RNH - McDavid - XXX (Rattie potentially)
Vanek - Draisaitl - Puljujarvi/Aberg
Lucic - Strome - Aberg/Puljujarvi
Caggiula - Khaira - Kassian
The second line all speak European so thats a big, big bonus.
I could potentially see someone like Jannik Hansen being signed (IF he still has the speed he did on the Nucks. havent paid too much attention to him since) Familiarity in the Pacific, smart, excellent 2-way game and one of the best Pkers in the league. Could be cheap under 1-2 million signing, as I think his time is up in SJS.
Also props to Rattie for making the most of his opportunity with McDavid. No idea if that will continue, but I'm also really loving McDavid with Nuge. Two great sticks/puck thiefs on the same line, and its a treat to watch them with their elusive sublime passing with one another.
With the Oilers cap situation Rattie so far is exactly what you'd hope to see, that other good teams have.
A low paid guy who find chemistry with the star.
We've all seen that you just can't throw anyone on the ice with McDavid and have it work. If RNH and Rattie play well with McDavid through to the end of the year, I'd think you have to pencil them in together for next year no matter who the coach is.
players get chemistry you HAVE to run with it, and it will pay off for the oilers down the road to have Drai lead his own line
