The rest of the division has caught up is all. Last year we got free wins in Edmonton, Vancouver, Arizona, San Jose and had pretty bad records against the rest of the league. Now the whole "Russell flops around the ice like a warrior" act is getting exposed for what it is - poor defense. Edmonton is an okay team, Arizona is an okay team, Vancouver is built to beat us, and Vlasic is healthy for San Jose.

If you call 30 points a year "not generating offense", then you must hate every Flame second-liner to the tune of Bourque, Glencross, Bertuzzi, Stempniak, Bouma and such who has played here for the past few years.

Yep, frustrates me to no end when players regroup and there's a SIMPLE outlet pass but the defenseman (coughRussellcough) ignores it for the long transitional pass. And then it goes for an icing.
