Did he bully him?
No you're jumping to conclusions and getting excited about something that there is NO evidence that a flu bug is going around lol lolAre you? I'm just talking about a potential bug. That's not "nothing" in a finals. This isn't round one
Sure. But the degree to the teams laying down, its kind of shocking. Both Dallas and Vegas fluked out a game one win and then got swept. Just swept. Destroyed. In a capped league you don't expect that imbalance. Credit to the Oilers, for sure, but its been some token opposition since the first two games of playoffs. Not even the glory years Oilers were carving through playoffs this easily. The only time even comparable to this was 1988 when an Oilers team just plowed through teams in the playoffs.
The NHL has a competition problem on its hands. Theres Oilers and Panthers and then everybody else.
Enough to make him a non factor in the serieskane bullied the Rat?
Another of my favourite Tkachuk moments....from Game 1 of last year.
I think this is a testament to our very strong group of Dmen. I honestly don’t remember the last time we had such a strong group. The Dallas forwards, all of them, were horrible in the series. I don't even recuse Robertson who was awful in the early games. none of them showed. People expected their D to be the weak point but it was their forward lineup who didn't bring it. None of their star players got going and in that respect it was just like the Knights series.
Rants had zero goals. Hintz didn't get one till last game. Johnson was horrible, got nothing. Dallas forwards were a frustrated group that looked like they couldn't finish in an empty net and then got into cheating forward for goals that they weren't getting. Dallas gave up all these oddman breaks because their forward group were disengaged, not scoring, and frankly giving up on game plan. I'd be livid too as a coach.
No coach would survive a 11M buck forward being mostly invisible in the series. of of the whole team only scoring 11 goals in the series and always giving up first goals. Untenable.
it's an oversimplification to say that these teams, these forwards "didn't play good". it takes away from the incredible shut down effort the oilers put in. they were shut down. Our opponents are a collective 2-12 the last 14 GP. Sure the Oilers have been good, sure the opponents haven't believed they could beat us. Haven't played with Verve, aggression etc. Again Marchment was the most physical opponent player we've seen, but him and Benn really were the only ones.
Who in the LA lineup was trying to impose will. Who in the Vegas lineup? They wanted nothing of Kane, Nurse, Perry etc. lol Danault was complaining about the Oilers being dirty and please don't hurt us..
Perry was even saying in game one conference final to an opponent "you're turtling" Against a guy thats supposed to be tough. Teams haven't even had somebody to match Perry. forget about Kane or Nurse. They won't even try.
Florida probably won't lay down as easily.

I thought that season was Greenes coming out party to be honest. But I guess I could see your point of view too. That third pair wasn't as strong as this cores. Greene was too green
Then we traded him quickly after that. I forgot how long after. Was it the visnovsky trade?I thought that season was Greenes coming out party to be honest. But I guess I could see your point of view too.
Yep 2007/08 summer Greene and Stoll for Vish. Then he went on to be a solid d man and win 2 cupsThen we traded him quickly after that. I forgot how long after. Was it the visnovsky trade?

To be fair, I think they ran into the same issue as the Leafs.
The root cause is the Oil feasting on Lindell-Ceci or FLA being in a position to hit Tanev 100+ times. When half your defence struggles to move the puck quickly, they're going to get caught by a heavy forecheck and your forwards are going to look slow.
Meanwhile this is how the Oil have stayed out of trouble vs. 3 teams known to choke the life out of their opponents defensively (LA, Vegas, and Dallas), and it's their best hope vs. Florida: Every defenceman on the Oil can transition the puck quickly before the forecheck arrives.

This Dgroup is much more stronger than that 2006 bunch. Strongest and deepest since the late 1980s, I’d suggest.2006

My main memory of Greene for some reason is the rogue ice rut that broke his ankle in the first part of 2007-08. True story: https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/oilers-lose-matt-greene-for-3-months-1.676200Yep 2007/08 summer Greene and Stoll for Vish. Then he went on to be a solid d man and win 2 cups
I mean we don’t have anyone close to CFP. But maybe the late 80s is a better comparison. This Dgroup is much more stronger than that 2006 bunch. Strongest and deepest since the late 1980s, I’d suggest.
Hopefully, we're considerate enough to share with the Panthers.Who even gets sick in June? Of course this happens to us.
Reminds me of the Conference Finals in '06 when a random May illness went through the team in the Conference Finals.
