They've played 2 less games this year to get to the final. 16 games vs 18 last year. Minutes per game about identical. Still, playing two less games and getting a long break is good. Rest always seems to help McD and Drai. They don't know what rust is.

But yeah, I thought they were super close friends but it sounds like there’s animosity. Hopefully Frederic gets in Tkachuks head and not the other way around, can’t get baited into penalties from the turtle

Got blasted early on saying McDavid coasted alot this year.

Dude complained of fatigue 2 years running. It was pretty evident he picked and chose his battles carefully throughout the season, especially late.

Even at 4N it was clear. He came out flying but once he got popped twice, he dialed it down looking for the break pass and stayed with the play instead of infront. His style and rushes changed

Totally, but they've had fewer OT games (I think) and the depth has been much better not requiring them to play as many minutes as well. It's really all coming together nicely.

It can work the other way too. Cory Perry is probably a prime example for Oiler players.

Absolutely, it's felt more consistent and the results have shown that. Plus the core there really does have the "unfinished business" attitude.
