Oh man Kane was hilarious in game 2

Towards #92 - Clarke (who drew a call from Kane and scored on the PP)

Kane - "Fu** you're soft eh? Holy sh**. You're fuc**in soft. Fu**in falling around, flipping around all over the place. Diving all over the fu**in place."

LOL

Clarke - "What are you going to do?"

Kane - "Who the f*** are you?"

So the reject is admitting he is flopping lol. Doesn't say anything back to Kane besides 'What are you gonna do?"------------------

Oh, and they can hear the "Lets go Oilers chants" in the dressing room. Crazy how loud it is in there.

I laughed at that as well. Mostly because that whole series I was thinking “Clarke sure is a little punk bitch like the rest of that team.”

Glad it was recognized on ice as well.

He’s this era’s Jonathan Toews. A star top line player for sure, but gets undeservedly elevated to another tier due to ambiguous media driven superlatives like how amazing they are defensively or “intangibles.”
have you seen the fanfictions Florida fans write about his leadership and selflessness on the mains? have read multiple different posts crediting him with every signing taking a discount to stay with the team to convince themselves their tax advantage isn't real. it's bananas

lol Barkov!? I don’t doubt that he’s a great captain, but he’s certainly not a rah rah type and a quiet personality.

How would those calls even go? “Uhhh you should come here. For discount. Weather is nice and…..uh. Ya were a good team.”

I’m already reading and hearing about how “mCDaViD hAsNt PLayEd BarkOV YeT!”

Yet again, it’s stunning how the same dumb, lazy, and already disproven narratives get dusted off every year no matter who we play. Kypreos was droning on about how he “shut down” McDavid last Final, only to be pointed to the fact he had 11 points in 7 games. Pretty sure Barkov ended that series deep in the - too.

Can set a clock to it. Oilers certain to be beat by some vague superlative like “depth!” or “what about this one player that will shut them down!” God I hope we just punt them and shut all these idiots up.

Looking at the main boards here is really making me question my memory.

First, I'll read about seven posts in a row about how, 'the Oilers haven't faced anything like Florida yet!!!' and it makes me think, 'did I imagine that seven game series that Florida won by one goal last year?'

But THEN I'll read a couple posts that reinforce the fact that, yes, that did happen but will end with a comment about Barkov shutting down McDavid and then I start questioning my recollections of 97's back-to-back four point games and 11 points overall 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I think last year there was an element of “happy to be there” even though they obviously wanted to win. This year they seem more focused.
No last year they wanted it just as bad. DIFFERENCE is the maturity and calmness through the whole team. That's what experience brings and going to game 7 in finals and losing just brings that passion out more and desire. This is their best chance but nothing is promised. They have to play the best hockey they ever have and hopefully they win 4 before panthers do

last year Barkov didn’t have to deal with a healthy draisaitl either. Barkov is overrated people think he’s Bergeron just because Bergeron retired it’s getting old. Barkov is a great player but let’s not act like he’s a defensive god when all the panthers do is clutch and grab.

In Tampa we called them "The Stinkin Panthers", or just the "Panturds" . But, Rats is appropo as well. When their drunkass fans visited Amalie, it was absolutely disgusting.

Sounds like the Panthers are basically your Flames (and the Bolts the Oilers of that relationship). Little brother syndrome, obnoxious, inbred fans etc haha

We're hoping our team keeps them to the one Cup after this run :crossfing

I’ll probably feel differently once the series starts but I’m not really nervous at all. Excited at the prospect of finally seeing a Cup and I like our chances.

But if we lose it’s kind of familiar territory, like we’ve been there as fans already. I don’t expect to lose, but it’s also not the end of the world if we do.

I really would love to be able to discuss “how many will they win” as opposed to “will they ever win” though.

The Oil did some major sandbagging this year. They dispatched 3 straight teams above them and outside the LA first two games it was convincing and the series were not that close.

Second of all, really surprised at everyone saying Fredrick sits if Brown is back. Watch the games again, he is playing smart hockey and not giving up the puck and always doing the right play. His hits are not flashy but punishing. Knob won’t be pulling him against FLA.

Lastly, this schedule is gross. Starts way too late. Multi day breaks between non travel games.
Probably to help the Cats. You know those eastern teams are not used to so much travel. 😉

The Panthers found their game from game 7 of the Leafs series and have been rolling. They have a style of physicality and borderline dirty play that puts teams off their games. They will go after players like Kane, need to stay strong mentally and not lose our cool. I did not want to play this team, it is what it is. Time for McD to step it up and take his first cup, I picked Oilers in 6 like I have every series. Getting this far and losing again would be crushing, just win it.
That's the beauty of a rematch, the Oilers know exactly what to expect. After the penalty trouble in Game 1 against the Stars, they've been pretty disciplined since then. I don't expect that to change.

The only thing that scares me is Stu which I've said a few times. I have no doubt the team will work their asses off and continue to play hard. You just hope to get a save especially when it matters. We need to continue to get game 4 Stu. We get that I truly believe EDM will win the cup.

The team was out of gas after beating Dallas last year. That Vancouver series cost us the cup. It should have been over in five games at the most but goaltending kept costing us wins and it was those extra games we had to play in that series that led to our downfall. Drai broke his finger in that series among other things. McDavid took a vicious cross check in the back of his neck after a whistle that practically folded him in half. Neither guy was the same after that and the same could be said about others.

We haven’t wasted games this year. Outside of the La series we’ve kept our series’ short. This team is fresher for Florida this time around and Hyman aside is healthy too. I expect that to be the difference this time.
Oilers have a better roster, more depth and experience playing the Cats this time around. It's going to be a great series.

Barkov in FLA's last two games this past week

MINUS 5

But he had that great set up for the gwg so all is forgotten

He has been a plus 4 all playoffs. He was Plus 2 overall against TO (+2 in game 7).

Nothing insane

He struggled heavily against Matthews in games 1 and 2.

Tells you all you neeed to know.

They sat Kane all year. They added depth everywhere. McDavid definitely did some coasting this year to save for playoffs.

They did alot of planning for this run.

Oilers in 6
Cats did the same thing, especially at the end of the regular season. Big reason they both placed 3rd in their divisions although Edm did win more than them.

You’re not wrong. But a big difference is that the Oilers are stand up tough while FLA is dirty tough. I don’t like them and don’t trust them.
Bennett will try to elbow Skinner's head. He did it to Stolarz and Anderson, not sure about Vali of TML. But I'm sure the coaches will get the players ready for all of the Cats antics.
