I’m already reading and hearing about how “mCDaViD hAsNt PLayEd BarkOV YeT!”

Yet again, it’s stunning how the same dumb, lazy, and already disproven narratives get dusted off every year no matter who we play. Kypreos was droning on about how he “shut down” McDavid last Final, only to be pointed to the fact he had 11 points in 7 games. Pretty sure Barkov ended that series deep in the - too.

Can set a clock to it. Oilers certain to be beat by some vague superlative like “depth!” or “what about this one player that will shut them down!” God I hope we just punt them and shut all these idiots up.
McDavid better get his Rodrigues /soccer embellishment game starting strong

Slasha Barkov is going to slash this guy fifty times a shift like last time and all of the media are going to give Barkov his flowers for it

He just holds and obstructs knowing they won’t keep calling penalties
That is Florida's whole strategy. Take the chance. They cannot call them all.

Our pp has to be very good. I hope they are actually practicing it by watching FLA tape.

FLA pk was crazy agressive. They start skating full speed at the point. This is where Bouchard could get into trouble bumbling a puck or two for a breakaway against. Bouch has been great, but I keep having this scenario in my head after watching FLA's pK. They don't give you time and space like our PK usually does.

I've seen those narratives too. Seems like a "reputation proceeds reality" type deal we get with a lot of hockey media types that don't really watch games. He was -3 for the series last year, but -6 in games 4 - 6, not sure those comments that Mcdavid did all his damage when Barkov was off the ice holds much water either

Oh man Kane was hilarious in game 2

Towards #92 - Clarke (who drew a call from Kane and scored on the PP)

Kane - "Fu** you're soft eh? Holy sh**. You're fuc**in soft. Fu**in falling around, flipping around all over the place. Diving all over the fu**in place."

LOL

Clarke - "What are you going to do?"

Kane - "Who the f*** are you?"

So the reject is admitting he is flopping lol. Doesn't say anything back to Kane besides 'What are you gonna do?"------------------

Oh, and they can hear the "Lets go Oilers chants" in the dressing room. Crazy how loud it is in there.

I’m not worried about Bouchard. He’s got the pulse of a cadaver and doesn’t panic.

On 1440, Andrew described floridas game perfectly. They’ll commit 30 penalties and dare the refs to call 3. What an embarrassing look for the league

You really see how vocal and how much of a leader HYman is in that drop episode (and past ones). Really sucks he is out, but we have more than enough to win.

The last two times we made the final we lost the opening two games of the series and won only one road game. Has to change this year. We know we can win in tough buildings and take charge of a series but the Panthers know they’re never truly out of it.

Most of Barkov's "defending" last year was constant slashing and cross checking. Wow, so impressive.

Dude is a damn good player, but he's gone from underrated to overrated in a hurry.
Barkov in FLA's last two games this past week

MINUS 5

But he had that great set up for the gwg so all is forgotten

He has been a plus 4 all playoffs. He was Plus 2 overall against TO (+2 in game 7).

Nothing insane

That could be a blessing because there is no way these guys will want to f*** up like that again, especially at home. Can't even blame them game 1. It was a Bob show

Clarke should have learned to keep his yap shut. Next year, he's going to "find out." No reason for Kane to hold back in a regular season game.

That game one reminded me so much of the 1983 series against the Isles, where we were all over them, but couldn't find a way to beat Smith. Next year, they tightened up, and Grant Fuhr did the shutting out, and the damn broke shortly after that on their way to a convincing series and cup win.
