Yet again, it’s stunning how the same dumb, lazy, and already disproven narratives get dusted off every year no matter who we play. Kypreos was droning on about how he “shut down” McDavid last Final, only to be pointed to the fact he had 11 points in 7 games. Pretty sure Barkov ended that series deep in the - too.

Can set a clock to it. Oilers certain to be beat by some vague superlative like “depth!” or “what about this one player that will shut them down!” God I hope we just punt them and shut all these idiots up.

I thought it was a great inside look at the Oilers, but what jumped out at me was that Podz said Leon chose him as a line mate and he simply didn’t ask why. They also go out for dinner a lot together. Found that cool.

The Panthers were my pick to win the cup up until we wrecked Vegas the way we did. I think the Oilers take this in 6 but I'm so nervous man... Florida is really good. We look invincible at times but so do they.

I pray that they are scouting Bob like crazy because you just know that he will bring it. Let's hope we exterminate these dirty rats this time and bring the cup back to a legit hockey market.

Pretty cool.. the last 30 seconds were the most interesting for me re biological age tests. Janmark does look as old as Perry and Podz does seem like a teenager

Stu is a wild card I suppose, but I like to think his elite play was a direct result of the team playing elite defense as a 5 man unit, with every line and pairing. So the key is for the skaters to keep that up

Barkov has got to be the most overrated defensive player in history

Any Oilers fan that picks the Panthers deserves a perma ban. You're either in it with us or you're out even if you truly believe that the Oilers won't win and why would you believe that after what this team has shown.

The only name I recognize from that list is someone I put on ignore years ago. I assume the rest are just drive-by’s from other boards.

Florida's a great, heavy, forechecking team and they use it very effectively to set up their offence. However, a huge difference this year, and what I think is going to be the Oilers "ace in the hole", is that they now have 3 defensive pairings that can all move the puck quite well. Much harder for for Florida to establish that forecheck if you make quick, decisive reads to get the puck out.

Play like that, with proper support from the forwards getting back to give the D lots of breakout options, and I think we'll see the Oilers able to handle the Florida forecheck quite well, and turn that into some rush opportunities too.
