My predictions thus far:
Oilers over the Kings in 7 - Stated this would be our toughest series and if we win, we go on to win the cup.
Oilers over Vegas in 5 - easiest series
Oilers over Dallas in MAX 5 games

Florida is similar to Vegas, except better depth, especially up front. We need to play them like we played VGK. Hit and attack their D, especially #5. Get in Bob's face and drive him nuts. He'll fall apart just like Hill did. Hitting will be crucial in this series and it's why Brown will replace Skinner as we need Fredrick's size and hits.

Florida will be the toughest opponent.

Oilers in 5.

We split the first 2 (hopefully we take game 1), then win the last 3 straight.
Nice! I predicted the same for LA but Oilers in 6 for both Vegas and Dallas. I am sticking with Oilers in 6 against Florida, and I agree that they have to ride Florida like they did Vegas. Dallas gave more open ice to the Oilers than Vegas did.

Couple things scare me in this series from Oilers perspective.

1) Bobrovsky-Hes really good when hes in the zone
2) The Lundell-Marchand third line
3) What goaltending we get

As much as people talk about Florida’s physicality it doesn’t scare me at all.

I am curious how Florida handles our transition speed through the neutral zone. I think it’s going to be an major issue for them. I think it could go in a similar way the Vegas series went where Florida just can’t keep up. Florida will definitely have more guys going. But I’m not sure Edmonton has gotten the credit for making Dallas and Vegas look bad.

I think our star players will be flying in this series. Our defense is stellar. Our forward depth has been great all series.

Start the series on time and win both games at home.

I see the Panthers the same way. Basically the same team as Vegas stylistically and functionally, except with just better players in all positions.

The formula to beat them is the same. Keep the puck off the walls, make fast puck movement below the hash marks our most important focus, and punt pucks out for our guys to chase down in the neutral zone to relive pressure if needed. When we focused on fast zone clears in Game 3-6 we killed them last year, then slowly fell into their game a bit in Game 7. We know the formula.

Yup
This team has confidence they can beat them this time around
They showed it in Games 4, 5 and 6 last year and Game 7 was a toss up

They had a “happy to be here” vibe after the first 2 games last year and only woke up in the 3rd period of Game 3
I think it’s a different vibe this time around

THis is it. I know I am not the only one feeling Deja Vu with the 83-84 Oilers who lost to the Islanders then came back the next year to beat them. Oilers this year are not as beat up as last year. Last year with a heavily injured roster they were still able to push the Panthers to a game 7. I feel the team this year is better and more healthy then last year. I think we will win the cup this year.

Cheering for you guys to beat the Panthers in the rematch! Go smoke ‘em this time so us Bolts fans can brag to those dirty Cats that they didn’t go B2B.

We beat the Flames in 2004 for you guys, so hoping you can return the favor with the Panthers this year! Go Oilers!

Would seem to be fitting for a Lightning fan as your team is the only team to have raised the cup in our current rink. Hopefully that changes in the next couple weeks.

Really didn't think the team had it in them to get this far even as recently as a month ago.

Not sure if this is unpopular but assuming Brown is good to go for game 1 I think it should be Frederic who sits.

It is going to be Skinner that sits, and I don't agree with it, but I understand it. Florida is a very physical team as we all know, and Skinner is not a physical player as we all know. Frederic doesn't do much, but he does hit fairly often (4th in hits/60 on the team in the playoffs), and he is big and has an overall edge to his game (won't get rag dolled, is intimidating, etc etc). The thought process is that we have enough offensive weapons to score, and we need to match Florida physically, which I understand, but again, I disagree with.

I think we already have enough team toughness without Frederic, and with Hyman being out, our secondary scoring has taken a big hit. Our star players are not guys that need protection either, as they aren't small players. Skinner brings "one shot scoring" to the team, that nobody outside of McDrai, Kane and RNH has. I would keep Skinner in and sit Frederic, but I would be absolutely shocked if that happens when Brown comes back.

Im really excited to see a healthier Kane take Tkachuk's lunch money a la 2022 BOA

Kane is likely tougher than Kassian was (or at least as tough anyhow, and plays more minutes), and we all saw how scared shitless Turtle was of Kassian in the past. Turtle isn't going to do squat when Kane, or Nurse are on the ice.

Florida might win the series, but its not because they are going to intimidate us physically.

Line up Kane with Draisaitl and Frederic and match them with the Bennet-Tkachuk line.
