Oh for sure. Just I refuse to give Jackson credit when bits big adds are like our 13/14th forwards.

Particularly when they are 13/14 because of three players acquired by Bowman (Podz, Kapanen and Frederic) with a combined cap hit between the 3 of them less than either of those 2.

That said I'm not sure that 2 of those 3 Bowman adds are truly better than the 2 in question, but that's where things are with the team currently.

My predictions thus far:
Oilers over the Kings in 7 - Stated this would be our toughest series and if we win, we go on to win the cup.
Oilers over Vegas in 5 - easiest series
Oilers over Dallas in MAX 5 games

Florida is similar to Vegas, except better depth, especially up front. We need to play them like we played VGK. Hit and attack their D, especially #5. Get in Bob's face and drive him nuts. He'll fall apart just like Hill did. Hitting will be crucial in this series and it's why Brown will replace Skinner as we need Fredrick's size and hits.

Florida will be the toughest opponent.

Oilers in 5.

We split the first 2 (hopefully we take game 1), then win the last 3 straight.

I don't know about this. The biggest positive in terms of change that have occured during this run aren't Arvidsson and Skinner, but rather the additions to Walman, Klingberg and to lesser extents Podkhozhin, Kapanen and maybe even Frederic.

Bowman's moves are much more responsible for the current state than Jackson's (though I guess hiring Bownman was one of his moves).

And Knoblauch

Couple things scare me in this series from Oilers perspective.

1) Bobrovsky-Hes really good when hes in the zone
2) The Lundell-Marchand third line
3) What goaltending we get

As much as people talk about Florida’s physicality it doesn’t scare me at all.

I am curious how Florida handles our transition speed through the neutral zone. I think it’s going to be an major issue for them. I think it could go in a similar way the Vegas series went where Florida just can’t keep up. Florida will definitely have more guys going. But I’m not sure Edmonton has gotten the credit for making Dallas and Vegas look bad.

I think our star players will be flying in this series. Our defense is stellar. Our forward depth has been great all series.

Start the series on time and win both games at home.

while not happy about losing Hyman, I am happy Jeff Skinner got into the line up. After 1000 games, after one of is worse pro years in the NHL, the step in and did what had to be done. 2 games 2 pts.. He is playing 3rd/4th line minutes, but that boy is hungry for the CUP. He knows he wont be back next year and we will sign someone for 1mill a year to take his place. The look on his face when he got that goal

Yes, but he's not a liability and sometimes being big is good enough to win some key puck battles. This team has plenty of skills and not enough grit outside Hyman, Kane, and Frederic.
Frederic has absolutely killed it defensively and has been good on the forecheck. He's not on the score sheet, but he's contributing. It's why he's out there in key moments.

I agree. He'd win many of the puck battles that Arvidsson would lose. That's why he's been in the lineup over Skinner and Arvidsson.

Yeah. This is going to be so anxiety inducing for me.

I just cannot see McDrai letting this 2nd chance slip.

Last years loss still runs through my head daily lol.

I don't even want to think of another one this year.
My anxiety is already through the roof and the series doesn't start for 5 days
