July 2nd 2024 - Jackson is one the best GMs this team has ever had!!

March 2025 - Jackson is an embarrassment. He screwed this team

May 30 2025 - see July 2nd..

I don't know about this. The biggest positive in terms of change that have occured during this run aren't Arvidsson and Skinner, but rather the additions to Walman, Klingberg and to lesser extents Podkhozhin, Kapanen and maybe even Frederic.

Bowman's moves are much more responsible for the current state than Jackson's (though I guess hiring Bownman was one of his moves).

Honestly McDavid/Drai haven't even gone supernova. Maybe the game against LA when we came back game 1.

We are spoiled that they are still throwing up these record numbers with ease.
Like most of the season, especially with McDavid, he is conserving his energy. That breakaway goal in game 5 against Dallas showed us he's not messing around this year. He goes to a higher gear when the pressure is on.

Yes. It was pathetic. It's even worse that they were walking on the streets with the cup and people thought they were holding some hunk of metal found in an alleyway. It's a f***ing embarrassment that teams in the south US win a cup. Their fanbase is just f***ing clueless.
Reminds me of this all time great Onion article from when Carolina won the cup in 2006.

It is pretty funny. No matter how they spin it, We should have kept Halloway and traded Broberg(he did not want to be an oiler) to the flyers for the first we acquired from them at the last draft

Would we have got much more than a 2nd for Broberg anyway? Tough to say.

Jackson deserves some credit. He was able to bring back almost everyone from the run. Henrique Brown and Janmark and especially Perry have all been pivotal pieces.

5 nights without NHL hockey to watch…at least the Mem Cup has 2 games left tonight and Sunday. Go Medicine Hat!

A little for those, but I ultimately think the cup run was the primary driver for those 4 signing generally reasonable contracts. How much of acquiring Henrique and Perry in the first place were him vs. Holland would factor into the opinion, but it's not that clear who was driving the bus that year.

Everyone's talking about the Oilers not being ready for the Panther's physical game as if we didn't take them to seven games last season.

This is a veteran team, and nearly every player has played a ton of playoff hockey. They'll be fine.
Who is everyone? Not seen anyone saying that. Trolls will say anything ignore them. The Oil were better then them last year they got a few breaks , we are better and hungrier and more prepared this year...

Have to jump on this team early. You can't play catchup all the time. We already know from the Leafs series that they can come back and haunt you if you let them off the mat.
Dont let them touch you, and you wont have to worry about touching icky Maurice in the handshake lineup when we sweep their asses at home.
This will decimate their home fanbase + the Panthers are in rebuild mode immediately + they will boo Bet99man (who was betting on himself being booed now he is richer)

The other teams we have faced have kind of fallen apart with our physicality so it’ll be interesting to face a team that can dish it back. It’s a huge bummer we don’t have Hyman as he was just preparing for this round but damn, Kapanen has stepped it up physically with his shit and Perry can be just as annoying is Tkachuk.

Before anyone yells at me. I have voted for our opponents in 6 every time and we have won so I am doing it again. The cup is ours this year but I have to vote for the other team, it’s worked this far.
Okay suspiciously close name to the HurricanesSweep (almost happened) I'll be watching you

I mean, Skinner and Arvidsson are taking up over 7 mill on the cap and have mostly not played in the playoffs.
Most of the guys we added that are being effective are Bowman’s adds.

Yup, you would hope they could contribute more, but the fact they are there to fill when need be is a testament to the depth on this roster. It's not as if the guys playing ahead of them have been poor in any way.

Also it's the end of the playoffs and J-Skins is a UFA in the summer, the cap is irrelevant.
