The Oil did some major sandbagging this year. They dispatched 3 straight teams above them and outside the LA first two games it was convincing and the series were not that close.

Second of all, really surprised at everyone saying Fredrick sits if Brown is back. Watch the games again, he is playing smart hockey and not giving up the puck and always doing the right play. His hits are not flashy but punishing. Knob won’t be pulling him against FLA.

Lastly, this schedule is gross. Starts way too late. Multi day breaks between non travel games.

Yep Kane will always be the one in the spotlight, but when it comes to hit/60 Podz, Kap, and Frederic are all ahead of him.

Plus while FLA is incredibly physical, but they're not overly big. There is no Nic Hauge or Zadorov on defence, or Byfield or Dubois up front. This is how Vegas contained them 2 years ago: Guys like Roy, Carrier, Kolesar, Stone, Hauge, McNabb, and Pietrangelo as a group could keep them in check when FLA started running around**. That is where Frederic is needed.

**If anything, that series against Edmonton likely prepared Vegas for the final.

The Panthers found their game from game 7 of the Leafs series and have been rolling. They have a style of physicality and borderline dirty play that puts teams off their games. They will go after players like Kane, need to stay strong mentally and not lose our cool. I did not want to play this team, it is what it is. Time for McD to step it up and take his first cup, I picked Oilers in 6 like I have every series. Getting this far and losing again would be crushing, just win it.

Also: need to win before game 7. The NHL doesn't have "prison rules" very often anymore, but it sure did in game 7 of the SCF. Doesn't matter how skilled McDavid is if he's dragging 2 Panthers around on his legs like toddlers.
This people forget. I gm 7 Florida was allowed to do what they wanted they were literally holding unti mcdavid. The idiots on tv called it great defense but it is what the league allows

Aaaahhhhh we're in the Finals again!

I've never been to a Cup Finals in person. I live in Toronto now but want to fly down for game 1 or 2 and take my dad (he lives in Edmonton).

Any suggestions on how to find affordable tickets?

Let's go boys!!!

Consecutive Cup Finals rematched have only happened 5 times in NHL history. In the second year of the rematch against the Islanders, the Oilers and Gretzky won their first Cup. When the Penguins did it, Crosby won his first Cup.

It is written.

Vegas admitted many times that the Oilers were their toughest challenge in that run.

Connor McDavid might not believe in superstitions anymore but I still do. I’ve picked the Oilers in five in every series so far and I’m not going to stop now.
He is superstitious and wears the same suit on a win streak.

Someone likely told him 5 cup wins come when the captain grabs the Campbell trophy. They lose in the final when the captain doesn't touch it.

I think having home ice is going to make a huge difference this year. We’ve lost one game at home these playoffs and it was when we scored an own goal with 0.4 seconds remaining.

Will be interesting to see if Skinner stays in the lineup after his goal tonight.
If Brown is ready, Skinner or Arvidsson comes out.

Still really disappointed about game 7 last year. Felt they came out flat and Mcdrai let the team down and themselves down when it mattered the most.

Can't have this happen again. Need to see their names all over the score sheet every game.
The team was out of gas after beating Dallas last year. That Vancouver series cost us the cup. It should have been over in five games at the most but goaltending kept costing us wins and it was those extra games we had to play in that series that led to our downfall. Drai broke his finger in that series among other things. McDavid took a vicious cross check in the back of his neck after a whistle that practically folded him in half. Neither guy was the same after that and the same could be said about others.

We haven’t wasted games this year. Outside of the La series we’ve kept our series’ short. This team is fresher for Florida this time around and Hyman aside is healthy too. I expect that to be the difference this time.

Really didn't think the team had it in them to get this far even as recently as a month ago.

Not sure if this is unpopular but assuming Brown is good to go for game 1 I think it should be Frederic who sits.
Nah against Florida you need frederick
