OHL 2024 2025 Playoff Prediction Thread

Well we know it starts Thursday at least lol

As for the bets, Since I am not in the running to win I'll go with my heart and say Oshawa in 7.

If I was in the running I probably would say London in 6 but screw it, let's go with my heart!

Awful quiet in here, lol. Reminder deadline is today at 7pm.

Going to pick with my heart not my brain but I have some logic to my pick. After watching both conference final series I noticed a trend that I think will be a problem for the Knights. Elliott gives up a lot of rebounds and Oshawa has been very opportunist around the net. Oshawa has size to disrupt the D in front of the net. Now Oster has struggled this year but seemed to have upped his game in the last series. I sense some high scoring games. Oshawa having no trouble with Barrie and their goaltending was an eye opener,

Oshawa in 6

The following from a Ranger fan, who may or may not have any idea which way is up.
Take this prediction with a grain of salt!

London has pretty much had an easy run to the final. They haven’t played a tough team to this point. The first two rounds, they played easy outs in the Soo and Erie. Two teams that sold off vets this year. In the third round, the Rangers, with a much younger nucleus than London (only two NHL drafted 19 year olds), who sold in the fall, and stood pat at the deadline, were never gonna beat that London team in a 7 game series. To be honest, Parsons (the main reason Kitchener’s record was what it was this year) was gonna have to steal a game or two in order for the Rangers to avoid a sweep. The Knights made the Aud “their house” …… again. Hey, hats off to the Knights. They won the conference, and earned the right to have that easy trip to the final.

The West was the weaker conference this year. I can safely say that Windsor and Kitchener’s records reflect that. I would imagine if they played in the east this year, they probably wouldn’t have finished second and third in the league. There was much tougher competition in the east.

That’s not to say London’s record is what it is for that reason. No doubt, there may have been some easier wins this year for London playing in the Western Conference. But with that lineup, I have no doubt that in either conference, they’d be at or near the top.

But this will be the first time London runs into a team built for this year‘s playoffs. Playing the Rangers, they never really missed Barkey. But versus a team like Oshawa, who is also built for this year‘s playoffs, who went all in, in a big way, at the deadline, Barkey’s absence (however long that may be) will be felt.

Unlike London, Oshawa has been playing tough teams since the start of the playoffs. You might say they are already battle built. The fact they swept away another “loaded with vets”, all in, team in Barrie tells me just how good this Oshawa team is.

That’s why I think London will meet their match in the final. The fact that both teams are going into the final well rested, says a lot. Well rested London had the benefit of playing a Ranger team who had just gone through a seven game series. In the final, both teams will be going in with the same amount of rest. That’ll make for the best final possible.

My prediction:
Oshawa in 7 games.
