OHL 2024 2025 Playoff Prediction Thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Barrie in 4 over Niagara
Kingston in 5 over Sudbury
Brampton in 6 over Oshawa

London in 4 over Owen Sound
Windsor in 5over Soo

Definitely looks like the Steelheads and Generals will be the series to watch round 1. Doesn't seem like anyone thinks it will be under 6 games

There was discussion on the fight limit last year and the conclusion was it resets for the playoffs and there is no fight limit for the playoffs. Keep in mind the instigator penalty still exists and to be fair most players/teams are not looking to be short handed in important games.

Well playoffs are getting close so it is once again time to start thinking about/discussing the upcoming playoffs and your predictions.
Rules are the same as last year but this year I will introduce a tie breaker for first place only.

1 point will be awarded for each series predicted winner
1 point will be awarded for each series total games played in that series
Reminder if you pick the incorrect winner of the series but predict the correct number of games in that series you will be awarded 1 point.
Round 1 there will be 16 points available
Round 2 there will be 8 points available
Round 3 there will be 4 points available
Round 4 there will be 2 points available
Important to get off to a good start

Predictions will be accepted up until the announced start time for the first game in each round. I will post the time and date once the league has posted the schedule. I will also post once entries for each round are closed.
Reminder that the first game of each round may not be the game your team is playing in.
Double Reminder. I'm a stickler for not including picks posted after the deadline.

Only pick 1 round at a time as upsets came change the dynamics of the next round and saves me searching through pages of posts to ensure all predictions are included.

Included this year will be a tiebreaker for first only. Anyone within 2 points of first place after round 3 will need to predict the total goals in the final game of the ohl championship game. Total goals means all goals scored in that game by both teams. For example a 4 - 3 game would be a total of 7 goals. Closest to the total wins on the tiebreaker and if more than one has the same gap then a tie it is.

And as always no prizes awarded.

If you have any questions you can DM or post on here so all can see questions/answers.

And yes I do make mistakes so just let me know so I can review and adjust if required.

Have fun.

Thank you for throwing this together again this year. It's appreciated, even thou I don't usually participate, but will throw darts at a board blindly this year lol. ( so much more in tune when I was active in lower levels )
