On the bright side, we added some more minutes to the "played with a lead" total time for the season. Good work there.

Wait, there was another turnover as they were turning off the lights...

It's 1am and I'm still so damn pissed.

That was selfish bullshit by Sissons to get the team a too many men penalty with 2 minutes to play. Just go to the f***ing bench and make your line change, there's absolutely zero reason to reach out and hook the guy. SELFISH!

And that was some lazy-ass bullshit by Carrier to not only let his guy get past him, but all the way to cross into the front of the f***ing net! There's 15 seconds left, tie up your man! LAZY!

And Forsberg with the no-defense defense on the GWG, not only did the flyer get past him, but Forsberg had his stick up in the air, what the hell are you defending in the air? Put your stick on the flyers stick and he doesn't redirect the puck into the net!

I don't know what this team has to do to score some damn goals. If the nets were the size of soccer goals we'd still hit the post, or the more likely pred outcome, miss the whole damn net.

Edit: I thought of another one! Josi, in the third period, came into the offensive zone, I think on a 3on2 rush, and STOPPED f***ING SKATING! He crossed the blue line, got to the top of the slot area between the top of the circles and stopped skating and the flyer defender just stepped right up and took the puck away. Again, LAZY!

Happy f***ing Thanksgiving. :banghead::soap:

Alright full thoughts coming:

My parents at in their mid 60s. They got my brother (who posts on here) and me into hockey. Got us season tickets, took us to a ton of games. My brother became a top high school goalie here in Nashville and won state championships.

I went to college, worked in collegiate sports for a while before having the opportunity to work for an NHL organization for a year.

During the Cup run, my family had a European trip planned. We didn't got because it was the Finals. We literally didn't go on a week long trip because we wanted to be here in case this team won the Cup.

Hockey runs deep in my family. And I have my parents to thank for that.

If this Micky Mouse organization doesn't manage to win one freaking Cup before my parents pass I swear I will stop supporting them. My parents have sacrificed, supported and cheered for this team for over two decades now. They've supported youth hockey here in town. They've paid for season tickets for almost 20 years. They've paid their dues.

And that is why I'm furious with this team's continued inability to admit the core isn't working and we need to rebuild. We've needed to rebuild since 2020. I thought that was the direction we were going and then Trotz and Brunette somehow screwed it up and are most likely going to set us back another 5 years.

I know there are risks rebuilding. I see Anaheim, Buffalo, Detroit, Ottawa. I get it. However I also remember Chicago being dog poop for almost a decade before they won cups. I remember LA being ass before they rebuilt and won cups. Hell Boston was terrible for a long time and then they won one cup and almost three more.

I know a full tear down doesn't guarantee generational talent or us becoming a cup team overnight. But for my parents to have a chance to see this stupid team throw a rager on Broadway, I need that rebuild clock to start today because this current core is spent. Is old. Is not working.

Carrier is not an NHL defense man. Fabbro was. For years. And still is. Terrible asset management.

I'm so tired of Luke Schenn struggling to make it to the bench every single shift as if his skates were tied to cement blocks.

I'm so incredibly tired of this team giving up on their youngsters.

I'm so tired of watching this team not be able to clear the puck cleanly in the defensive zone.

I'm so tired of Bruno being unable to motivate this team of professionals.

I'm so tired of seeing our guys not be able to pass. They haven't been able to pass since 2008 as far as I can tell.

And most importantly I'm so tired of Poile. He saved the franchise. I get it. We owe him a ton. But this team and organization still reek of him, both his successes and his failures. His hand picked guys. His ghost still haunts 501 Broadway. It's time to call the Ghostbusters.

I know everyone on this board probably as a story like mine. I know some of you drive all the way from Kentucky to support the team. I know some of you have kids in youth hockey here. Heck, some of you are probably my parents in this situation and I want a Cup for you as badly as I want it for them.

I just can't see that happening without a serious course correction. And it makes me incredibly sad.

During the game one of the coaches mentioned how the shot counter was not indicating the real shots we had.

Mr coach, yes it does, because if you aren't getting the chances on net then all the chances don't mean a thing.

The Philly goalie came into tonight with one win and under a .900 sv%. That's a guy you throw everything and the kitchen sink at and we were picking corners like we were facing Patrick Roy.

Well said. Honestly I think there's one key difference for this team that many vehemently anti-rebuild people aren't fully considering. Many of the teams that cratered into a decade of doldrums started out their rebuilds with little to no future assets. We have plenty of draft capital and prospects. It shouldn't take 10 years.

The sad part is we could leverage the veteran players we have (that don't have trade value) to mentor the youth. This was seemingly the original plan when ROR, Schenn, etc. signed. Instead we let the young guys languish and eventually jettison them.

The high draft pick seemingly may come our way anyway, but the old guys taking all the premium ice time isn't gonna do any favors.
