In 75 minutes, it will be the Badgers versus the Huskies of UConn for the 2024 Championship.
Ethan Whitcomb of UConn was given 5 minutes and a Gamer for Checking to the Head. It was Neutral Zone elbow to the head, followed by another elbow to the head when both players fell to the ice. UConn killed the penalty. The Badgers hit the crossbar with 10 seconds left in the penalty. The SOG are 12-2 with 4 minutes remaining.
It is 0-0 after one period. SOG were 14-3 Badgers.
After two periods, it is still 0-0. SOG were 8-8. Some physical play by both teams. Wisconsin' goalie, Tommy Scarfone was run into late in the period. It did not look like an accident, but no call was made.
Period has begun. Wisconsin called for Slashing. I did not see it happen in the corner closest to me. My daughter did not see it. We did not see it on the replay. Badgers with SHG. Owen Lindmark (Grad Captain from Naperville, IL) from Jack Horbach (Junior Forward from Naperville) and Zach Schulz (Sophomore Dman from South Lyon, MI) At 5:40, Finley (3) with a blast from the top of the left circle. Assists to Daniel Laatsch and Gavin Morrissey.
Ninety seconds later, UConn scores to make it 2-1. The goal was by Kaden Shahan, a Freshman Forward from Everett, WA. UConn scores from the low slot with 4:05 left to make it 2-2. Joey Muldowney of Lake View, NY. After a long battle in the SE corner, the Badgers come away with the puck. Christian Fitzgerald skated a long way and fired it in from the left circle to make it 3-2 Badgers at 17:32. Horbach had an assist.
UConn called for Interference. With 1:30 left, Horbach called for Cross-Checking to make it 4-on-4. UConn pulls their goalie. A Badgers player chipped the puck out and gets put in a front face lock while chasing it. Badgers awarded a goal to make it 4-2. Huskies score just before the horn to make it 4-3. Trey Scott punched a Badger player! He gets called for Roughing! The puck was dropped at Center Ice with 1 second left.

The teams do shake hands. I don't see Trey Scott.

Fiserv Forum should have subbed out their Zamboni services to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich. During the first day of the annual holiday Great Lakes Invitational tournament, they rolled out 4 different ice resurfacing vehicles over the course of two games. It was an impromptu Musical Zamboni contest.
