I agree with you. Very similar game and very similar talents. I don't think he has 90 point offensive upside, but I think he could be a fantastic 2nd line center who can play in any situation.

We both liked him in 2010. Getting him, putting him behind Stepan would make me feel very good about the center position, and not so concerned about buying out Richards.

Yeah I remember us both being fans leading up to the draft. Agreed on all points.

Thank you.
Needs to be enforced. Bugs me to no end.

Has he hit 30 pts in a season yet?
I understand the fascination with this kid, drafted 8th overall, decent size and good skills, but I'm sure the Jets would want a big piece of our future, and I don't think its worth it for a guy that has brought more sizzle than steak to far in his young career. I don't like my steak raw, medium is MY taste.

Players like Burmistrov are not available very often as they enter their prime. 50-60 point 2-way centers are hard to come by. I would rather grab a raw steak and let it marinate in my fridge than try to overpay for a marinated steak that is 3x the cost.

There are plenty of kids from that draft year who haven't even played a single NHL game, let alone hit 30 points. He's developing as a player and would be an upgrade immediately as a #3 center on this team.

The whole point of discussing him was under the premise of moving Gaborik to acquire him in a package deal.

You're projecting what he can be, which I guess is easy to do, and he may eventually get there. My only concern is that he's in his 3rd year on the team that drafted him and he's supposedly on the market? Big RED flag for me.
That's all I have to say on this. I respect your opinion and we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

Have the Gabby rumors pretty much dried up, or is that something people are still hearing about out there?

As of yesterday, there was nothing going on with Gaborik according to the insiders. I'd imagine that means he's not going anywhere

Does "insiders" just mean Larry Brooks cuz he also wrote about how the Rangers wouldn't make any moves for Clowe

Stuck in class till 1:30. Even now, I can't observe a free trade deadline day.
