Too bad Russo doesn't cover the Rangers. He grew up rooting for the Islanders on Long Island. Newsday should hire him to cover the Rangers.

Exactly. People get too hung up on him being a 40 goal scorer. He isn't one right now. He isn't helping the team. If we intend to re-sign Clowe, one of Gabby or Richards HAS to go.

Neither player is likely to be a Ranger after the 2013-14 season. Gabby isn't re-signing here. Richards will likely be bought out. At least by trading Gabby we can get something of value in return.

The only question in my mind is whether he gets traded today, at the draft or over the summer. I doubt it's today, but wouldn't be against it at this point.
