GDT: Official Trade Deadline 2025 Thread: Lets not Tuch our tails between our legs

So... who are we targeting for our last move?
My heart wants a big splash trade. My soul yearns for Maroon skating by a guy like Matthews and saying "Whats it like to never win shit?" or "You're f***ing washed up Ekblad!! I'd know! I've been washed up my whole career. Aaron! Aaron!! Hey AARON!!!! What's it like having so much in common with Pat Maroon. YOU CAN'T IGNORE ME ANYMORE THAN YOU CAN IGNORE YOU GET PAID TO DO SHIT AARON!!"

is this a real dialogue? :D

Loved Maroon when he was here, but I wouldn't want him anymore. Too old and slow, would hinder the rest of the 4th line IMO

I think if Tanev was coming to Tampa, he'd have been part of the bigger trade yesterday. With Smith gone, they could still look at some decent bottom 6 options like Maroon, Kunin, maybe Jankowski, Brazeau, etc. For 3LD, there's the possibility of Grzelcyk, Hanley, Suter, maybe Ferraro with some considerable cap gymnastics, and probably a few others.

Yeah I mentioned Jankowski yesterday. Cap is right, age is right, role is right, has an extra year. Honestly seems pretty reasonable to try to make that move.

Also the Driedger and Kahkonen swap seems pointless.

JBB: If we're going to do more before the TDL, and that's a big if, we only have $800k to work with.

So don't expect much happening, then it would have to be a league minimum salary player, 4th line or 3rd pairing. Can't get much for that to be an upgrade, so I think they're happy with what they already have.

Jankowski is signed for this year and another year for 800K. Fourth line big body is exactly what we kind of need. If we package Sheary with a trade, it should give us about $1.7 in cap space for another player. There are options to still marginally improve by tomorrow.

He also said it could be a cap out/cap in situation. Sheary and Perbix going out opens up some space, enough.for them to add a bottom 6 F and depth dman. I could at least see one or the other being g addressed before.the deadline, as even if they are still good with Perbix (who has been seeing less and less ice time and has usually been the #7 as of late), if they just move Sheary, they'd have 1.669 available (nearly 3.4 with retention) to add someone and have a 22 player roster.

JBB: unfortunately i got scammed and there is no retention on Bjorkstrand and now i have no cap space for a 3rd pair D or a bottom forward. Sorry, guys.

I don't think they're looking for a 3rd pairing D in the first place. Lilleberg has been in the lineup all season, been playing well lately with Raddysh and outperforms Perbix, so I think they're happy with 78.

This guy thinks we should get a 4th liner and a 3rd pairing defenseman over Bjorkstrand.

I do think that we could add one more defenseman. If we lose our starting goalie, we're probably cooked. If we lose some forwards, we can fill those spots. We have Atkinson, Geekie, Brown, and Sheary in Syracuse.

If defensemen start getting injured, who are the first few call-ups? Crozier, Pouliot, Carlile, maybe Santini.
