There has to be rentention on both players, if its 50% then we still have $2,190,321 with a 21 man roster. Unless we run 21, i didn't calculate that

Am I the only one that sees that as expensive? Lol.

Regardless, top six is set for a few years barring anything crazy. Now JBB needs to sort out the bottom six and the pipeline needs to compete for those roles.
I think we've just accepted that JBB overpays for what he wants. Team is better than it was 15 minutes ago, by good margin.

Keep in mind, we will still have a ton of UFA cap space, given everyone is locked up and the cap is rising.

We always overpay so everyone is just used to it. It’s pretty much 2 years of Bjorkstrand for 2 first round picks and Gourde for a 2nd round pick. Some other team would trade a first for a rental this year and another first for a rental next year and use the same amount of picks. It just looks crazy when it’s all in one trade.

Every JBB trade: people like the return, then hate the cost
It's tough to gauge initially because details aren't all there. Like retention, then the idea of what Gourde is like at the moment too. Hopeful he's a 40-50pt guy and that injury hasn't hurt him.

I don't mind sending what we did. Maybe a 2nd instead of a 1st but you need to get the deal done i guess.

I wonder how much Tuch costs then.

JBB has lost his mind. 2 1sts and a 2nd for a player who has never scored 30 goals and 60 points? I understand there is an extra year but it's still an overpayment

They probably wanted something dumb for Tuch like a 1st and Cirelli or Hagel

If you don't like that you don't like JBB/Tampa hockey, baby! 😃

This is such a classic JBB move. I used to get mad at the over payments now I'm just along for the ride. (I don't think all his trades have been good, but i give props to the ones that did. I think he's batting .600 or so)

The down years are gonna hit like a brick

Seattle's top two highest paid forwards have 24 goals this season between them. They're spending over $13 million on them for 6 more years.

Brandon Montour and Vince Dunn are making more than $14 million combined.

AWESOME!
The price is okay, I think retention hasn't been announced yet. IF JBB got Seattle to retain on Bjorkstrand, then this trade becomes insanely good for us.
Picks are meaningless for us, but we get to add what we needed without sacrificing Howard or Geekie. Which means, between adding Bjorkstrand and the adds we'll be able to do in the offseason we'll be an absolute wagon next season.

Very happy, Bjorkstrand has been quite underrated and playing in Seattle hasn't helped in getting more recognition for his good plays.
