I think Gourde will be good again here. Maybe not what he was last time, but he can still bring that swagger to a 3rd line.

You had to think JBB was gonna look to bring him back. We tried hard not to lose him in the expansion draft.

Im pretty sure they need retention on Gourde and Bjorkstrand. I think they would still be slightly over with double retention on Gourde

Gourde also drags guys into the fight. I mentioned last night that I missed when our guys would start scrums if anyone even looked at Vassy the wrong way. Gourde is one of those guys.

I agree, only concern would be size come playoff time.
Maybe we get Seattle to retain some salary on Bjorkstrand as well (I assume they'll retain half for Gourde) and then get a physical 4th liner with what remains of cap space?

We've seen him stumble before. 3/4 of this board wanted him gone in 2019. I get that he's older and unlikely to regain his form, but I don't think we traded for 2020 Gourde.

Give me his heart and his attitude. That's gonna make any team better.

It's not official or anything, but I'll be happy if it's true. I'm not as sold on Gourde as I am Bjorkstrand, but maybe it's Bjork+Tanev (or somehow all 3 lol).

Simply a 3rd rounder honestly. It shouldn't cost much, its just the Cap hit that's the issue. We would have to move probably another roster player to fit all three.
