2 days to go! We will have $6,948,591 once Atkinson is sent down tomorrow or claimed with 11F, 7D, and 2G on the roster. What are the teams biggest needs? What are the biggest assets we have to work with? Who should we go after? Lets see some proposals!!!!

Nothing is going to happen until TDL day, correct? Isnt that due to JBB having to wait the full length of time to accrue cap?

1. Top 6 RH winger
2. Secondary scoring
3. Long term top 4 RHD

Everything should be available

He doesn't get all ~7m if he makes a deal before then, but he's already built up quite a bit.

Cant imagine it's possible to get both of those this deadline.

Very possible. we currently have 5.6m in cap to use. if we wait until the 7th we will have 6.05m in cap to use. not sure the 400k extra will make any difference if the cost of getting someone now is cheaper than waiting until last minute when prices are sky high or starting to plummet

Just based off names that have been mentioned, I'd think this would be a solid deadline:

Guentzel - Point - Kucherov
Hagel - Cirelli - Tuch
Gourde -
Paul - Tanev
XXXXX - XXXXX - XXXXX

Not sure if we can make Gourde work under the cap though.

I would call Utah up again. First ask would be Schmaltz who would be that 2RW. More a pass first winger but has scored 20+ the past 3 seasons, with another year left after this one. Makes more than Tuch with a 5.85 AAV but the thing that might make him available is he makes 8.5 in cash next year and Utah might want to free that up. Would need to be a 1st + offer similar to Tuch and they probably won't retain on that but maybe 25% if we pay up enough.

A more logical, cheaper and provide more depth option would be Blujstad and Cole. Blujstad is a RH shot, not for 2RW but 3RW, and Cole we already know and gives the bottom pair a vet presence. Would need Cole 50% retained, probably double retained so he comes in at 775k while Blujstad is 2M. Think we can do it for one of the 2nd's + 4th, maybe throw in a Hay/Harvey unsigned prospect as well. Would add a 3rd if really needed to to seal the deal but would want like a 5th back.

The 3rd line would look good with Goncalves- Paul - Blujstad and 4th like is stronger with Chaffee dropped down. Still need a 2RW but would have close to 3M left, a 1st, Geekie, Howard and Gauthier. But we would be much stronger in the bottom 6 and 3rd pair.

We could always go cheaper and just get Jagr and Sustr. He's scored a lot of points over the years and Sustr can be acquired for free.

Still need a 2RW but we would have close to 6M, a 1st, Geekie, Sheary, and Labrie. But we would have a much wiser and older bottom six and bottom pair.

If we're bringing in Sustr do we need Cernak anymore? And I know Jagr usually plays wing but try him at 2C and we can trade Cirelli and Cernak for Tuch and make Buffalo fans happy for once.

Thats true. Dotchin would probably be an upgrade, so we should check what McDonalds hes hanging out at and bring him back. Trade Perbix to Anaheim for a 7th, cap savings you know. Then call Utah again to say we don't need their players we got bargain buys elsewhere, suck our nuts. Plan?

Screw Dotchin, Brian Lee is still out there and in better shape let's bring him back. Agree on trading Perbix to Anaheim, good call.
