I seen mocks with him outside the lottery so maybe make the playoffs and get O’Brien too. A lot can change in the rankings between now and draft day thou
Yeah not that I want the team to lose but we still are pretty near the 5OA pick right now. A bad stretch and we back in the hunt for a top talent.

Based on the last couple of pages, I say keep the thread open. There's still a lot habs fans hoping the team loses. The disillusioned need a home as well, just as us fans hoping the team wins needed a home in the last few months. Best of luck guys.

People want to shut down the tank thread when we are barely 4 points above the bottom 5?
One bad week and we are back in the bottom 5. This year standing is extremely close.

This season will have 2 real bad team in Chicago and San Jose.

So,

You’re saying vampires can come back from the dead?

We don’t need to tank. For example…

Caleb Desnoyers is ranked around #10. Amazing toolkit, smart player, 6ft2 center…52 in 32, +36 and the main reason his team is leading the CHL. For whatever reason the Q is lower scoring then OHL/WHL since last year so his production is better then it looks…

With 2 middle first round picks we can move up around the 10th spot if a guy like this slip all the way there.

I reckon the tank talk has temporally been put on pause, for the time being anyways. Nice to see Montreal and many other clubs still playing for a chance to make the playoffs, makes it more interesting anyways to some. It might even be worthwhile keeping abreast come the TDL to see what happens with what teams and which players.

While we are playing like 60s Habs...They are bound to hit a wall at some point.
progression isn't linear, and I suspect as the playoffs near, and it doesn't look like we make it, people will be back here hoping our 15th overall pick can fall into the top 10.

It's going to be very interesting to see how this young group performs as top tier teams gear up towards playoff form, and mid tier teams start playing with desperation to lock up playoff spots.

Health of key players will be key. Our youth and lack of quality veterans makes us more fragile to injury than most playoff bound rosters... But if we stay healthy, I bet we stay in the WC mix right to the end.
