Official Tank Thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
This team is so frustrating, it’s expected with such a young core but geez, let’s just please go one direction from now on, up or down. The latter still has a lot of appeal to me 🤷

Knew it would be a bipolar year. Only thing predictable was our unprecedictability.

How anyone can be frustrated as a Habs fan this year is bizarre to me.

We're LITERALLY, EXACTLY, where the team said they wanted to be.

Organizationally, the team is in a great position in terms of prospects developing and those arriving shortly.

This was a great year in terms of growth for this organization, they wanted to get "information", they got a ton.

Maybe I didn’t express myself correctly, but no matter what, I think everyone is entitled to feel the way they want so maybe you can answer your own question yourself.

I’m very very ok with where they are at. I’ve been preaching exactly what you said all year. I’m just annoyed at the lack of consistency which again is probably normal given how young they are. I got caught up in the playoffs race unexpectedly and to see them lose that game the way they did with veterans not pulling their weight is what bothers me. St-Louis was ok, Philly wasn’t, that’s all, I think it’s fair.

I know most saw this team last in division based on logical evaluation of the roster.
Once the games start emotions take over and then some people base their evaluation on results. Thats what scientist refer to as Bergevinitis

I expected a .500 team so I am very pleased. Going from bottom 5 to playoff was always just a dream

Of course anyone can feel how they want and anyone can respond to those feelings.

Sure but back in September, if you were told that the Habs would be fighting for a playoff spot going into the month of April, I bet you would have taken it.

The last 2 games have been disappointing, but as I always say, we need to have more perspective. Stop living and dying with the emotions of every game.

By and large, this team has accomplished way more than anyone thought they were...the playoffs would be amazing, but it's pretty much gravy at this point.

Bergevinitis? Funny how on this board the only way some people can argue is by insulting and reducing other’s opinion to such generalizations. I’m more than ok if they miss the playoffs and I don’t base my expectations on how many points they have in the standings. I’ve enjoyed seeing this team play as a bottom feeder for a while now. I base my expectations on how they were able to dominate top tier teams this year and what bugs me is to see them not being able to reproduce that same structure against a very bad team in a must win (for them) situation. That’s all 🤷

The Habs were red hot coming out of the 4 Nations and rode that all the way into a temporary playoff spot.

They were bound to cool off, but thankfully, no one else chasing a spot seems to be hot right now.

They have another run in them, we'll see if it will be enough to get in.

this team did better than I thought they would, only frustrating part for me was winning against so many powerhouse teams and losing against crap teams or giving up 3-0 leads but we are a young rebuilding team so I'm proud if they make it or not, agree with everything you said

I agree bud, and honestly last night was the first time this year I turned off the TV in frustration. It was more about the opponent and the players who made the stupid mistakes (Matheson and Carrier) than the result itself. I’m super happy where the habs are at and can’t wait for next year, I’m just not ok with them losing this way against a bottom feeder when the game is supposed to mean so much to them.

Fans of those powerhouse team wondered how they lost to the Habs too.

Just the normal ebbs and flows of a season.

At least this season, these games mean something.

You could also say that the other competitors were in a cold seat to begin. Columbus has been running cold for a while at 2-7-1, Rangers are running not too far ahead at 3-6-1. The Islanders seem to have been on a hot streak, which is starting to cool off. Detroit has gone to the Antarctic and I'm not sure they're ever coming back.

So if Habs slide is real, they're in trouble, unless every team in the race has decided not to give a f***.

Oh and Islanders next 4 games: Bolts, Wild, Caps and their eternal rivals. They're in deep shit lol
