“@JoshYohe_Trib: Pens want to play home opener Jan. 20. Likely opponent would be Toronto. Current schedule has them at Rangers that night. #schedulewatchâ€

Well if they want to play their home opener that night we should rearrange the schedule to accommodate them. :sarcasm:

Frankly as much as I want to see the home opener I would not complain if the Rangers didn't have to face the Pens on the 2nd night of a back to back. Especially when the first night was against the Bs.

Bruins fans are already making excuses before the game :dunno:
I think they have a better chance than us

And Jamy.... Your avatar... It.. It scares me

What excuses?

Well, the "Boring Rags". What is there to say.

Not much, except last year there were people that legimately claimed that teams lost because the Rangesr are boring. Not the Rangers gameplan, which to some people is boring. The actual fact that they were bored. Not saying that all people are like that, very few actually, but when the puck drops, and the adrenalin starts flowing, I'm sure ill see more of that stuff.

But, I should probably wait until people are actually watching

I am sick and tired of hearing people call the Rangers the "Rags". Don't know why it bothers me till no end.

That's not an excuse. Teams do whatever they can to win and that's fine. I think most understand that.

I'm a Bruins fan that's in the camp of being a bit deflated with welcoming hockey back with a Bruins/Rangers game rather than getting right back into it vs. Montreal or something. I've seen the Rangers play other teams, but for whatever reason watching most Bruins/Rangers games lately has been like watching paint dry. I'm sure you guys have to feel the same way about these games.

At the end of the day though, the NHL is back, and I'd watch 48 straight games against the Blue Jackets if I had to.

The score lines are usually great. Everything else... Meh

Yeah the games are usually boring, but it takes 2 to tango. The Bruins have been a defensive team for years and years. Yeah they were top 3 or so in scoring last year, but that was mostly from their insane pace in November (probably also December). They are not the Flyers and Penguins. They can score, but when they face a good defensive team they're not going to score that much. Plus they're a defensive team. It's not only because the "Rags are boring" and the Bruins are some harlem globetrotters of hockey. The Bruins are just as boring.

The Bruins play a very similar style to the way the Rangers play and have more defensive oriented forwards than the Rangers do. I find Rangers-Bruins games very exciting to be honest, one of the best games I ever went to was 2 years ago when the Rangers came back to beat the Bruins after trailing 3-0. One of the loudest times I have ever been at the garden was at the game. Place erupted after Sauer scored. Captain Cally also went down to block a Chara nuke from the point and broke his ankle which caused him to miss the playoffs.

I do remember the first game against the Bruins in Boston last year as beeing an absolute thriller, with Gabby winning it in OT with about 3 seconds left :yo: Hoping for a repeat of that!

Possible excuses for losing to the Rangers:

6 goalie system.
Lundqvist makes them all look better.
The other team got bored.
Trap.

What am I missing?

I don't see how the rangers can be considered boring by many on here this year like they have in the past, with Kreider emerging and Nash joining up? No way. You'll still get your share of haters but whatever. Here's to an epic opening game

Maybe I'm biased because I am a Rangers fan but they aren't really all that boring. It's just an excuse by fans of teams with no defense and goaltending.

I'll admit they are boring at times. Oh look, a dump and chase for the 314th time. I wanna see someone dangle 2 defenders and score FUARK YEAHHHHHHHHHH :yo:
