Post-Game Talk: Official Kings (2) vs Soilers (3) Series talk

Yes, there is a cancer in the locker room. The other guys on this board have more insight into that than me.
I only lurk here but this is the most despicable and degenerate post I’ve seen in a while on HFBoards, enough to make me come out and say so at least. I’m not unfamiliar with your droll court jester nature, but you’re still better than debasing ATKMs health and well being.

What the hell is going on?

Jesse told this forum a while back that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He and Axl had an exchange earlier where Jesse said he was feeling unwell from the cancer, which I think Axl construed as him taking a shot at the Kings team, calling them a "cancer," and thus the reason he felt unwell, rather than talking about his own illness. And we all know how Axl gets when he perceives anyone as saying something negative about the Kings, the insults are sure to follow.

I'm not a fan of him by any stretch, but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he was unaware Jesse was battling cancer when he made his response. I understand why it struck a nerve with people. I had a reaction similar to the ones others posted, but he has been banned so many times on this forum that it's quite possible he wasn't around when Jesse originally shared the news. He may truly have been unaware. At least I hope that’s the case.

Distasteful jokes aside, it is annoying when people joke about or call Jesse a King's shill. He doesn't have to be here and is pretty chill for mixing it up with us. Sure, he has to watch what he says a little bit given his job/employer, and he is going to have different takes, especially given that he speaks to many in the locker room directly, which is going to change your perspective; but he isn't some mindless smiling corporate talking piece.

I mentioned it a few times, but I like listening to Eddie Garcia's podcast Locked On Kings and Jesse was the guest yesterday and his opinions sound reasonable to me, and while he is diplomatic, he isn't too afraid to criticize what he feels should be.

In my opinion, he hasn't shown he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Especially when someone gives short responses about being in pain. The cancer remark wasn't his first attempt to egg Jesse on.

He's an antisocial troll who loves attention. And normally I don't give it to him. But I draw the line at scumbag shit like this.

Also it was my fault for engaging. I was tagged in a post, had spent most of the day in bed feeling really shitty and kind of climbed out just to try and engage with the world and that's what I saw.

I should have ignored it I was being a bit of a drama queen. Thanks as always for the kind words and well wishes but this one feels like I could have avoided it by steering out of the way.

Live and learn.

As for my shillness...

to be clear I AM a shill. I just try to be an honest one if that makes sense.

If you see me making an argument it's because I believe (many times foolishly) that argument.

If you see me NOT making an argument or staying silent on a topic well.....

The Oilers are up 3-2 right?

(I left that space there to imply my silence as a sign of displeasure)

Funny you ask. I had talked to Hoven about this.

It's a process. Some of the popular people, like Russell Morgan and his crew at Hockey Royalty, don't have press credentials.

You need to be affiliated with or sponsored by a recognized organization.

But that's the thing, most just see them as hockey fans on Twitter or a blog site with a moderate following. Russell and his crew make good points on his site, but when a guy with the handle @bigwang69 make the same, if not better analysis on some of his takes 3 post below his, it's hard to take them seriously. There are other's on Twitter too who have larger hockey followings who try and act like reporters, but if you point out how flawed their take is on a player they hate, you get blocked.

no words. No speaches. No snarky comments. This is the least interested I have been in the Kings in my 34 years as a fan. 1st playoff game I have not watched in my time as a fan. Not gonna watch tomorrow either. Mainly just came here to see if anyone else just feels as gutted when it comes to hockey as I do.

In a word.

Uninterested.

Again just to be clear...

Russell Morgan has a credential. He's in the press box. He's in the post game scrums. He's allowed to attend practice and enter the locker room.

His HR brethren live out of state (Joe and Rando) and the rank and file don't have the same reputation or relationship so yea the random 19 year old kid who writes a single game recap in the middle of the season doesnt get to show up to a Stanley Cup Playoff game but Hockey Royalty IS credentialed.

he has a credential
Sorry, my mistake. I thought he wasn't for some reason.

I understand what you mean, but there needs to be some regulation/moderation. Because you don't want some drunk fan interrupting a press conference.

So, there needs to be some threshold of professionalism.
