I'll give them credit for going with this. Trying something different. Not putting Doughty on PP1 simply by default.

This also means Byfield is taking a bigger and bigger role on the team.

Now I'd like to see them apply that mentality to the PK. If something isn't working...change it. Last year the Oilers PP was 58% through 4 games. And the Kings kept trying the same thing over and over again.

Byfield now has the opportunity to be the difference maker in the series. He's on PP1. He's on the PK. Since March he's been the #1 center in TOI.

As fans this is what we've been asking for. Don't tell me this year isn't different.

Also, I've defended TMac as a serviceable NHL coach (which he is IMO), but he would've never put QB on PP1 over Doughty.
