I'm curious if Diller will use his 5 forward PP crew or send Mr. shin guard Doughty back on the number 1 unit.
 
Looks like game 1 will be either Sunday or Monday at 7pm.

Regardless of whether it’s Columbus or Montreal, that team will start on the road, but all eight series across the NHL carry some different elements that would dictate the overall schedule of games around the league. Ultimately, the playoff schedule is built around national television rights in both the United States and Canada and different teams carry different demand within that larger schedule."

April 23 2001 at Staples Center, Kings beat Detoilet 3-2 in OT of game 6 of the first round. Top line was Ziggy, Deader and Josef Stumpel. They led the way. Deadmarsh tied the game mid way through the third and won it against Osgood with less than 5 minutes in OT.

Kings finally slew that dragon, Wings had owned them in the postseason for awhile. Was a definite upset with the Kings at the 7 seed taking on number 2 seed Detwat. I guess Yzerman and Shanahan being out due to injury helped turn the tide.

Most fans probably forget that part. Round 4 vs the Detoilet of Canada feels like another isolated win that be the high water mark for fans who never expect a championship.

They indicated that before the Kings game

I noted, especially in the Nurse thread, that it was pretty clear with who they were resting vs. who they were icing what their intentions were and it wasn't to get home ice

The Nurse play confirmed that possibility, just totally f***ing clear as day organizational decision and the only thing that comes out of it for them is a day of rest for Nurse. Other sports would fine the org, it wasn't even a shade of subtle.

But DOPS has opened the door, let's see if the Kings have any balls to walk thru it.

Exactly.. that weak sentence should be a rallying cry - but in the last decade ive not seen them retaliate realtime or after the fact for any bullshit. Its should be more valuable than Nurse missing any time in the series. He's a liability the Kings can exploit.
 
One of my main memories from the 2014 run is how many times I watched part of the games (especially OT) without sound. Just hearing the announcers get excited during scoring chances put me on edge even more. Once the Kings would score in OT or the victory was at hand, I'd crank the sound back up.

This is my favorite part of hockey fandom and no disrespect intended at you Dokter...

The Wings swept the Kings in 2000 prior to that the Kings had only made the playoffs once since 1993 (a 4-0 loss to St. Louis in 1998) and prior to that the Wings and Kings had never met in the playoffs before.

I'm being incredibly nitpicky and I apologize but I'm a bit of a stickler meeseeks.
 
I think making fun of the oilers is the best way since we’re gonna get bounced likely. They always talk about California reffing even last game. I think we did something about that but I think it’d be funny to shops with all the players in ref attire.

I would be all for that but I practically guarantee we'd be 'asked nicely' to remove those lol

we had the "LA needs hollywood in the playoffs" ones, that was great

There's definitely a lot of options to have 'California Reffing' sarcastically displayed, like Darnell Nurse getting 1 game despite a 4-time repeat offender, Oilers getting more powerplays than LA, etc
