Should be a spicy series.
Foegele Factor - he's been excellent for LA. It wasn't popular for alot of folks at the time, but it's turned out to be a good piece of business by Blake. We got Foegele, they got a used 1985 Yugo in Arvidsson. The Kings definitely came out on the better end of that free agency swap.
Stay out of the box, goes without saying. LA needs to take advantage of their PP opportunities, easier said than done. Special teams will obviously play a big part. If the Kings can stay out the box and play 5-5, they have an excellent shot at winning this series.
We know the Coilers are banged up, have to be physical and hit them at every opportunity. Grind them down. Every team has bumps and bruises at this point in the season. Guess they could use the likes of Broberg, Holloway and McLeod right about now.
Ekholm is a huge loss for them, he cannot simply be replaced. As much as we dislike the one game suspension levied to Nurse, might be a benefit as he'll be in logging more minutes and he's average, at best out there.
We won't see Klingberg as he's on LTIR, without a timetable for return. Doesn't seem like a significant loss, but it's one less experienced depth piece on the blueline for the Oilers and that can sting.
Walman is still out, but by all accounts will be in for Game 1. The Kings should target him and lean on him hard.
Sounds like Evander Kane will return as well, but who knows what sort of game shape he is in missing the entire season to date.
Not sure if we see Frederic out there, but if we do, I don't think he will be near full go for them. That deal has not worked out for Edmonton thus far.
Getting Jeanott at any point in this series will be a boost.
Interested to see who they start between the pipes in Game 1. There is speculation that they may go with Pickard.
