Thought it’d be a good idea to have a section on our boards for all Kings vs Oilers related news and discussion

Would be interesting to see what happens with Nurse and how the Kings prepare for game 1. They need to come to the realization that the cup team won games because they knew that physicality is the best way to win.

Dustin Brown smoked Sedin and the series got sealed. The infamous Brown and Roszival incident that saw the Coyotes lose the series the very next shift.

Series are won by how willing you are to throw your weight around. Kings need to put the Oilers
down and send a message.

Sad to say this team just isn't built that way. Even last night there was no push back, no fire, no killer instinct. The shift after all the garbage with Nurse, Malott should have been sent out to destroy whoever he was lined up with whether they were willing or not. That's his job on the team. Nurse took out the best Kings player on the ice and the response was Fiala kind of maybe grabbing him. Weak. Soft. I wish this team played with half the intestinal fortitude and chippiness the Oilers fans think the Kings play with. This team still has no balls.

The stage is set nicely.

From an entertainment perspective, there's some storylines going into this series. Seems like Kings/Oilers 4.0 is generating a lot of buzz.

Yea it will be a fun series. This is the Kings best chance but it will not be a walk in the park. Not sure Id put money on this one.
Not usually my thing but I went to go troll on the main boards but it got deleted pretty quick. If the Kings win it woulda been nice to rub the salt in on those pricks. A real bummer.

Pissed off if we’re bad….pissed off if we’re good.

Jesus, how depressing. Yup, I’m in the right place!

F player safety - political and unjust. The real judges are the hockey gods - and from what Ive heard they really like QB and strongly dislike Nurse. They were not pleased with what transpired last night and they sent out a sanction / Nurse curse: EDM will be prevented from winning the cup this century due to their high level of team douchebaggery personified by the imbecile Darnell Nurse.

One F**king game!!! NHL is a joke. All I want is to beat the pathetic Oilers second round doesn't even matter at this point.

I'm also going to say - I'm still not an advocate for ending the careers of players.

But since the league won't suspend Nurse appropriately, it sounds like the Kings need to take action to remove him from the series themselves.
Ill advocate for it. End the careers of Mcdavid and Draisaitl and rip a slapshot into the bench at Knoblauchs face.

This series is going to be f***ing ugly, fully expect to seethe from cheapshots everywhere. I'm really hoping the bullshit suspension to Purse motivates this team even moreso, especially if Q is really f***ed up from that gutless puke of an assault. I want Jeannot to take some major runs even if he's not fully healthy, we need all our goon elements in this series. E. Kane is going to be back, so expect some major dirtiness from him as well.

Everyone knows where Mcdavid and Crysaitl are injured, pummel at it and put them down. Never advocate for stuff like that but that’s the type of game day want to play then retaliate.

Before the looming oilers fans clutch their pearls, we all know McDavid is going to attempt boarding again, Crysaitl with his stick whacks/nut shots, Perry with his interference, Nurse tendency for headshots and let’s not forget Kane is coming back- that guy is full on stupid.

Is it too late for a Brown Kneetorpedo lesson ?

I may be the only one, but I just don't trust this team beating the Oilers even with home court advantage. I just feel the two headed monsters and the physicality of the Oilers will beat the soft kings. Especially if Jeanotte does not play.

It's not just you.

No matter how good the Kings look this year, they have ZERO answer for McDavid/Draisaitl, MacKinnon/Makar, and even to some degree Kucherov/Hedman and Matthews. It's a shit matchup.

I want to be wrong but I won't believe it until they're dead.

That's exactly my feelings as well. I want so bad to believe that this team has the nads to step up and be a force physically in the playoffs but take Jeannot out and they look like they're going into a battle with pillows while the oppositions bring a sack of boulders. I just want to beat the Oilers after 3 years of being abused by McDavid and Crysaitl. I f**king hate the Oilers fanbase. LOL.

You aren't, the Oilers are the betting favorites for this series.

I think that this series, perhaps more so than any series in the playoffs is going to be crushing to whichever team loses it. I know people will say the same about Col/Dal and Fla/TB, but three of those four teams have recent cup success and I think Dal/Col especially will be chalked up to the seeding system.

If the Oilers lose to the Kings, that would not only be another year of the dynamic duo without a championship, but now it would be losing in the 1st round to a team they have already beaten three years in a row, it would be seen as a big step back. And not saying these guys are ancient, but Drai turns 30 this year, this would be seen as a very disappointing season and there will be questions about the entire roster construction if you go another year without winning with those two, specifically about goaltending and defense.

For the Kings, four straight losses to the same opponent, all four in the first round, this would be the Dollar Store version of the Buffalo Bills. And all while trading away so many 1st round picks and top prospects for older players, when you trade what the Kings have traded for win-now pieces you can't lose every year to the same team. Serious questions about roster construction and playing style, specifically how there was never any adjustment away from the preferred style of play over the entire four years.

A lot on the line for both squads, and their management teams.
