Our little girl Nikki (top left) crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge almost a year ago now and we miss her very much, but her best friend Nixon is still keeping us company and making us laugh.

This is Lucy. She's a 14yr old Bluetick Coonhound. She loves sun bathing on the steps in the morning and really doesn't like moving when you come down.

I was swinging through PetSmart to pick up some fish food and the next thing I know, my wife has this one in a bear hug over at the adoption event. It was all over after that. She's got full blown dementia now, so we won't have her much longer, but she's happy and hanging in there...

This pathetic creature is our cat, Joe. Joe likes sunbathing on the steps too. Joe's job is to make my wife and daughter happy, which he does very well. Joe has a giant gut which wobbles from side to side when he trots...

If you are Joe, life is good.

So, with the NHL season on (hopefully) temporary hiatus, and a lot of crap going on in the world, I've decided that we need a group pick-me-up. And I know that when I feel down, my dog always makes me feel better.

So, with that in mind, I'd like to invite everyone to share pictures or videos or funny stories about their pets. I'll start...

This is my dog Charlie. Charlie is a 3-year old English Bulldog. Charlie spends his days sleeping, eating, begging for more food, and farting. He likes stuffed animals, American cheese, and sleeping in my bed when I'm not around. He dislikes strange noises, being woken-up suddenly, the loud dog across the street, and video review on offside calls.

Charlie now has himself a little brother. Say "hello" to Blu.

been trying a bunch of places, I’ll look into them and see who is available!
I adopted through Greater New England Dog Rescue. I wanted a Lab/Boxer mix and was able to get a puppy last spring, he's from North Carolina (the agency seems to bring a lot of dogs up north for adoption). He was fixed before I could pick him up, $500 total. Absolutely awesome dog, about 16 months right now and snoozing on the couch under my leg as I type.

we got Jack from place above in my other post.
From Georgia originally. Boxer / Hound mix. Dumb as a doorknob but the most affectionate dog I’ve ever had.

Haha, Sherman sleeps with his head jammed into the throw pillow on the couch as well. My front windows also happen to be the perfect height so he can rest his chin on the ledge while in a sitting position. I swear I've caught him snoozing in that position while I'm working. I'm not sure how to post up pictures, can only figure out attachments, or I'd add one.

I'm also quite certain he has some pit in him; he's only 60 lbs full size and when he looks straight on at you there is some pit in his eyes/top of his head. Sweetest dog in the world though. Hell, he even waits at the top of the stairs for me when it's raining so I can towel him off; even raises up his paws since he knows drying those are a sticking point for me haha.

I missed out on two litters when I was looking at first but it ended up working out perfectly. I'm not one for fate or anything but I couldn't have hoped for a better dog & think I got lucky that I missed out on the first couple I submitted for.

I also really believe in being open minded when you go. I swear th3 last three Ive adopted chose me. Not the other way around. Almost every time I went thinking of a specific dog I came home with another.

Murray - no longer with us . Went up to my 8 year old son and started licking his face.

Ellie. - was an afterthought. Until she came up to me in a pen. I squatted down and she just put her head on my lap. Thats all it took.

Jack- well nobody wanted him. He had been abused, burned and beaten. and actually has a dislocated hip. But he still was happy and just wanted to play catch the whole time we were there. He made need an amputation someday. But our wonderful Vet says shes seen dogs go their whole lives adapting to this. So Im lucky and have the means to take care of him. But honestly I think he takes care of me. If I’m sick he knows somehow. Will lay beside me with his chin on my belly and wont move unless I do.

I bought a set of stairs for Daisy last year so she could get up on the couch or bed without having to jump. She's getting up there in years. :wally: She wanted nothing to do with them so I finally gave up.

Well, now that the new apartment doesn't have carpet in the living room, she can't get a good grip with her back paws to jump up on the couch. So I dragged out the stairs again, and she learned pretty quick. I don't think she's a fan, but she loves the couch too much to give it up. ;)

She also expects me to use it as a tray to bring her breakfast in "bed." That ain't happening

I love hounds. Had them all my life.......Bassets, Coon Hounds, Bloodhounds. They aren't the smartest breeds on the planet, but they sure are loyal and lovable.

The Universal Hound Motto: "Eat til you're tired, sleep til you're hungry...."
