Was upgraded to a 7.0. Heard 7.2 as well. I've been in Anchorage for 4.5 years and that was the biggest I've felt. It was pretty scary. My office got trashed. People were saying it felt like the biggest in decades.

Not a biggie, but we just had a 4.5, 15km SW of Dannevirke. Depth 37km. Not sure if it woke me up, or I was waking up anyway... but I didn't consciously feel or notice it... yet again.

Are you a seismologist?

No. But I did take a science class in college that concentrated on tectonics for a section of study and having lived in California for more than 50 years, lived through some significant earthquakes, I have a great interest.

Quakes included: 1972 San Fernando, 1984 Anderson Dam, 1989 Loma Prieta.
